I don't think a brokered convention would be bad or nearly as difficult as they are making it seem. I think that idea is honestly lumped in with all of the gaslighting about Biden not being that bad and just having a cold or an off night or whatever the fuck they've been saying. It's the conventional thinking used by the party to drown out and crush any dissent.

Yes, it would be unusual, but doing the usual thing got us to Biden v. trump Part 2.

 

Having a convention and picking someone other than Biden as the nominee could attract those who have noticed how the GOP has become the Trump party.

The Democrats have a golden opportunity to make it “about the party” instead of the individual. The ball is in their court.

 

One of the Pod Save guys made a good point: this election is about capturing attention. The debate the other night was the Dems last big opportunity at capturing America's attention and stating their case before the media discourse becomes frozen post-convention. There will probably not be another debate, that was it, and Biden completely blew any opportunity at recapturing the narrative. What better way to grab America's attention then creating the biggest political moment of the last 10 years where record numbers of people are going to have their eyes glued on fresh Dems making their case against Trump?

It takes liberals being embarrassed for these calls to happen, meanwhile the guy has been supporting genocide for 6 months and they were willing to push him down our throats. I still doubt he’ll step down and they’ll rally behind him but these calls should have been coming months ago.

 

If I'm a Republican, replacing Biden with literally anyone scares me more than him staying in. It's just the right move.

 

Someone on a podcast I listened to about the debate made the joke "we have 9 more years until Mr. Beast turns 35 and saves the America" and honestly I am becoming more and more convinced him being in the Oval at least by the 2040's is going to be our reality.

I hadn't thought of it this way, but this is such a strong argument for this being the right thing to do right now

 

The old ‘should we go for it on 4th down’ reasoning. Do the opposite of what the other side would want.

 

If a fighter has been training to fight a specific opponent for months, and last minute the card changes and he has to suddenly fight a brand new opponent with a different style; unless he's unnaturally talented the chances of him winning the fight decrease dramatically.
