I know it's cliche, but the heat & cold with low humidity really is so much different than east coast humid hot. I rock a long sleeve t-shirt all day for sun protection & to stay warmer later. But if it's gonna be less than like 50ish, I'll bring a hoodie too

at Coachella it’s pretty common to see people wrapped in those reflective FEMA blankets later in the night.

I'm excited as I got a cheap flight compared to prior years (closer to $400 instead of $700). Excited. I'll be there Thurs - Mon going Sunday to the fest. Not sure I'll do any of the side shows yet.

What have side shows been like in the past? Excluding the cancelled day random pop ups last year

I went to the Strange 90's one, the line to get in was insane, we missed a good 20 minutes and we got there over an hour before door times. SOTY went on stage after 1AM. The atmosphere was great though. Next day was a awful

This is kinda what I'm thinking it'll be like. If I can get 3oh!3 & Cobra Starship on Thursday I'll be happy

One thing I forgot to mention, one of the things that made the atmosphere so great was the fact that tons of band members from bands who were playing the festival were scattered all around, talking to fans and just having a good time themselves.

I did Something Corporate last year; that sold out in minutes. They played something like 20 songs with Cassadee Pope opening.

If I can remember, I'll post a link here whenever they do. I haven't heard anything else since that instagram video last week from Cobra Starship

    That's such a sick show!!

I still don’t have my flight tickets or hotel room booked and it’s giving me extreme anxiety lol. My group just keeps procrastinating saying it was fine the first year.

  18. get that stuff without them to cover your own booty, and then let them pay a portion and crash in your hotel room with you when their non-plans get wrecked and they have to scramble.

What band/bands had the worst album pick this year?

I've been looking forward to seeing The devil wears prada live again but Plagues is terrible.

I'm surprised The Used didn't go with their self titled album.

I think Plagues is an interesting choice as a throwback and listen songs by them they havent played live in a long time. But for me the Zombie EPs were the better option.

For me is The All American Rejects. Although I rather see them play a greatest hits set than a full album by them.

Also Dashboard Confessional, besides Vindicated and Stolen their choice was weak and should have done The Places You Have Come to Fear The Most

I think With roots above and branches below would have been the stronger throwback album

A greatest hits set for The All American rejects would have been better, I think I only care for 5 of the songs from that album.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Any conversation with worst in the name begins and ends with Alesana

If not a greatest hits set, I would’ve preferred All-American Rejects do Move Along instead of the self-titled. The 20 year anniversary is next year anyway, so it could’ve made sense in a way.

I do like Alesana and The Emptiness is my favorite album by them, so I feel attacked lol.
Im also excited to be one of the 10 people watching their set at the festival haha

On the subject of album plays or not, any predictions on if Fall Out Boy surprises us last minute with an album play, or are really going to be the only band to buck the trend and go heavy on new material?
