The Story So Far - Proper Dose (September 21st, 2018) Album • Page 68

  1. The last song on this record is easily one of the best songs on it. First three tracks are competent but not great (Letterman is the best of them), Jump the Gun is total filler, Big Blind is competent but again not great, tracks 6-7 are filler, and track 8 is pretty fun. Last two tracks make the strongest case for a new direction for them. I just can't believe it took them 6 years to make this record, it feels so slapped together.

Also, drumming on this record is pretty boring and I agree that it has always been a strong suit for them (I am a drummer too).

  4. I said what I said!

If anyone can point to a single interesting drum part on this record I would be shocked. Like, listen to "Right Here" or "Smile" or "Things I Can't Change" and tell me anything here holds up to that.

White Shores is the one that stands out each time I listen. It reminds me of the more mid-tempo songs from Proper Dose.
