I know they have a fair amount of heavier tracks, but they really turned those songs up to 11, heaviest I've ever heard them

Dude was throwing up in a urinal when I left. And I saw a big ass security bundle dragging a guy away

Strangely not the first time I've seen him in the wild in LA

  8. Yeah I had no service basically from the time Home Grown went on. It’d have been cool to hang! Ran into a group of old pals though so still had a good time

So stoked we got Cheek To Cheek, The Night Life, and Way With Words. Show ruled. My voice is gone haha

That is a great set. Hope Harrisburg gets the same or very close.

Should also be noted that they came out to “The Black Dog”

EDIT: Crazy that “Given the Chance” was the only song to not get played from SILYMI

That setlist is insane. A little bit of everything.

  13. Still buzzing from that show. I’ve seen them many times both during and after their status as a “full time” band and have to say, this is the first time since the old days I’ve seen them and felt that old energy again. Just something different about them - like they’ve all slipped back into the comfort of being a very active band again. Not a trace of a cobweb

I bet that show was a total rush. How did Blame sound? Absolutely love that song based on the one video of them debuting it a while back.

Blame sounded like the next logical step from Anyways (mainly using a single word as a bulk of the hook) with the urgency of Direction (the song). It sounded terrific.

  16. It sounded great! I had been avoiding the video that was circulating but was happy to hear it in person. Never know what the studio version is gonna sound like but the song totally feels like a bridge between Direction and where they went with the Anyways EP

Home Grown announced a headliner at The Glasshouse in September in case anyone didn't see it yet.

I love how they haven’t ever felt like a nostalgia cash in band despite not putting out new material for a long time. The sporadic performances make each time you see them feel a little bit special I guess

They could have totally capitalized on the Taylor Swift mention fame, shit I woulda. Yea Kenny has talked about how it's important to protect what this band means. Hope they keep playing shows, this is definitely the most active they've been. (I hope that means new music!)

I think they did the perfect level of response to it. The acknowledged it, thanked her, used it to tease a new album, made some merch, and then walked out to it at their shows

They did do a perfect level response, I'm saying I'd have milked it more. Will be interesting if they release a new album and capture some of her fans.

Gimme the Jack Antonoff producer credit and the fair shot at stardom this band deserved 20 years ago.

What is this credit about? And yea f*ck the music industry for screwing over most of my favorite bands during a time they deserved to get huge.

Nothing really, just everything he seems to touch blows up lately. I’d be down for him to produce a song or something on whatever they do next (or if we really want to lean into the Taylorverse, put them on the Shadow festival or a Bleachers tour).

I just want one record with as much momentum behind it as possible.
