My only thought that's keeping me positive for England is that they have done the exact same thing the last couple of tournaments. A 0-0 to Scotland and a 0-0 to USA in the 2nd group game to steadily improve. I still take the France game from the WC as a huge positive in that they played more fearlessly and went for it against a better opposition. It's almost like Southgate is afraid to lose against the minnows and plays it safe to avoid embarrassment, but knows you can't do that against a better team and lets them play in that case.

I hope for a convincing 2 / 3 goal win against Slovenia but I also will try to remain positive that in the knock out, things will come together.

  2. Gallagher is a boring move for sure, but it’s still an upgrade in the midfield imo. So they should look better tomorrow.

We all know stats can be misleading but see below. (From the BBC).

It’s not that Gallagher is bad, it’s just such a predictable and boring thing to do, that doesn’t fix our major issues down the left

To be fair, Everton are the one side in that whole inflated youth transfer circle jerk that I have sympathy for.

How can the PL start deciding how much a youth player is worth? Good luck, Richard Masters.

  13. To the Everton fans in here: what’s up with Dele? Is he sticking around? He’d be a perfect fit for Charlotte and we have money to spend.

Last we heard was that he's "back on the grass" but who knows what that really means with Dele's situation.

On the subject of Charlotte, just saw that you're interested in Callum Wilson of Newcastle. He'd be a great fit for MLS, it's only his injury record that lets him down in England. I'd imagine the slower pace of MLS would suit his situation.

  15. Yeah, I saw the Wilson news as well. Not surprising we’ve been linked with a few players out of PL with Dean Smith as manager. We’re apparently closing a deal with Tim Ream which is cool. Now links to Wilson, who I’ve read Dean wanted at Villa previously.

I think we can do better than Wilson tbh. But I guess I wouldn’t hate it either.

We have two of our DP spots open and we’re in contention. So it could be a busy summer. Dele is the dream for me personally haha

Spain changing their starting XI by ten players and still having that strong of a squad really is just an embarrassment of riches. Especially when they've got key pieces out injured this tournament.

I want whatever Navas is on, personally speaking. Still at it when he's 38.

There’s something to Navas’ eyes that have always alluded to a beyond human element he possesses. Slim chance anyone gets this reference but to any manga/anime fans in here he’s got the same eyes as Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen so maybe he’s got similar powers or something lol.

I wonder if this is Modric's last ever international game in a tournament.

This has to be his last tournament, dude is 39 in September and has shown signs of his deterioration already this tournament.
