Most dominate performance of the tournament so far, this. Spain are essentially saying take notice. That said, it's still only 1-0.

Remember when Spain had a midfield so good they couldn’t justify starting Xabi Alonso or Fabregas? As a teenager I didn’t realize the absurdity of that.

Yup. Fabregas couldn't get a game despite notching up something like 40 goal involvements the season before the tournament lol

Did they primarily start David Silva on the right during their peak run? I know Navas was often used out there.

    edit: forgot about Pedro

Last thing I saw, maybe yesterday, was that Liverpool and Arsenal are trying. But i think he’ll stay at Athletic.

  12. We’ve been linked to him for the past year. But I don’t think we can compete with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Barca. Hoping he just stays in Spain lol

Spurs wouldn’t pay him the wages anyway. He’s on north of 200k per week at Athletic.

Alphonso Davies and Messi jersey swap is cool

also Mac Allister looked really good, glad he didn’t get his leg snapped when he got cleared out by the keeper on the first goal

I was trying to describe myself to someone

This is the first time under the Southgate reign that I've wanted rid of him. Something feels off in a way it hasn't for a long time. It's very hard to reconcile having those players available and turning out those performances. Particularly when we seem to be starting games well, strangling the life out of the opposition, scoring and then completely capitulating.

We need a statement win in this last group game to get some belief back in. Or at least, if not a big win, a consistently good performance and win.

Not able to watch today's games as I'm seeing Taylor Swift, but that means I get to watch six games including highlights tomorrow. So that's nice.

Any chance someone can let me know which games are worth catching in full? I'm gonna try avoid spoilers.

Southgate's attacking tactics are a temu version of McKenna's. We play with two 10 with the left back providing width. Unfortunately it doesn't work with a right back playing at left back, and no pressing.

Southgate's tactics have always been inept, euro 2020 final he had then sit back and defend a 1 goal lead when we should have kept pushing as Italy looked rattled after conceding first, but we just let them come back into the game. Same as how both games have gone so far this week, score first then hold on.

Only so long you can coach based on good vibes.

Guessing Potter will be the next manager?
