Feel like we should be talking about this movie more. House of Pleasures that is.

 

I remember learning about it from someone at the old forum and was blown away. The music cue at the end was really moving.

The Beast opens here Friday. I hope I can get to see it Sunday.

 

I think The Beast is already finishing up its run here and I’m not sure I’m gonna make it. I thought I would.

 

One again plugging World’s Greatest Sinner on CChannel. It’s insane and Timothy Carey is the best

 

Hitting a couple of my Criterions this weekend, specifically Being John Malkovich and The Brood

 

Watched my copy of Cronenberg’s Crash last night, that was one very interesting movie.

 

Love Crash, maybe top three Cronenberg for me

I’d like to pre rec Abel Ferrara’s China Girl, which is coming to the Channel next month under Pop Shakespeare. It’s such an underrated and under seen gem. I hope it gets the true physical release it deserves soon because it’s desperate for one. Think Ferrara doing a gritty almost Scorsese style West Side Story.

Haven’t had the chance to hit up the nearest B&N yet but seeing all the huge stacks of buys in r/criterion had me like

 

My wife just quit her job so I have to sit this sale out, but I did just purchase an old Criterion copy of Straw Dogs on DVD, so it's not a total loss.

 

I grabbed Anatomy of a Fall and The Vanishing in Lansing yesterday, then on my way to my friend's birthday party in Ann Arbor I bought Trainspotting, In a Lonely Place and Hoop Dreams. I also found Europa Europa and Wages of Fear used the other day at a record shop. I love this time of year haha.
