Super Mario Party from 2018 did crazy ass sales numbers for Nintendo, way more than Superstars. Makes sense they bring it back under that banner instead of continuing on supporting the weaker selling title. Damiani from Easy Allies were are probably never going to get a MP game like Superstars ever again.

 

I’m kinda a gameboy/advance were best two systems ever guy and I’ve been mildly disappointed that switch didn’t do quite as much “all the games that would have been handheld are coming to the main console” as I would have hoped 7/8 years ago, so I am fuckin stoked for new mario and Luigi and 2D Zelda. There are more switch games out/coming that I haven’t played yet than I’ll be able to play, that’s wild for Nintendo.

 

Okay, my point is be a Moose and not a Grinch.

 

I still need to play the links awakening remake

 

Which is funny to me because Super Mario Party was awful

 

It's good and fun. Quick though.

 

Fast games are more than welcome due to the size of my back log

 

SMP is the 8th best selling Switch title with 20.66 million sold. Superstars is the 20th best selling with 12 million sold.

 

the only reason i have SMP was because it was an easy way to get another set of Joy-Cons for cheap. not a terrible game (i don't play Mario Party that often), but i get why others prefer other entries.

 

I wasn’t doubting you, I’m just saying SMP is a garbage game while Superstars isn’t. It’s not like sales equate to quality.

 

Obviously it’s just my opinion, but it makes sense to me that people that bought SMP wouldn’t have bought the next entry thinking it would be just as bad.

 

I think Mario party is just a “once per console” purchase for me. Like, sure super mario party wasn’t the best in the franchise, but when I get a craving to play Mario party with friends over it does the trick.

True. I think for a lot of people once they get one Mario Party there is no need to get the next one until you have to.

 

I was just so annoyed when it came out because they basically did everything they could to hinder the experience. The fact that you can play the full game online with Superstars is reason enough to never touch SMP again.

 

I don't think Nintendo would show footage of MP4 running on Switch 2 before the Switch 2 showcase later this year. I'd put money on the footage we saw running on just the Switch.

 

Has there been any confirmation or even rumored confirmation of when the Switch 2 is going to be announced?

 

I know it kind of slipped through the cracks with everything else, but I'm also interested in the new Phantom Brave announced in the Direct.

I expect a release date announcement in 2025 tbh because they Switch still sells so why destroy your Christmas business by properly announcing to the masses that your new console is coming soon
