Yeah but that’s also because there’s not enough acute detail to have something to talk about, you’re just aggressively keeping your eye on the puck. I personally love that football leaves downtime for you to discuss what you saw on the last play with your buddies and, when watching at home, several bathroom / grab a snack or beer / check your phone / go smoke a bowl breaks

 

Like no irony here I love bantering with y’all about stuff we’re seeing in gameday threads and that’s not really possible or easy to do with hockey

(on the flip side, it is easier to do with baseball but people don’t really be doing it in the MLB thread beyond one six word sentence lol)

Baseball sucks on TV for new watchers… but once you learn how pitching and hitting strategy works and what all the acronyms mean, and don’t just see it as “maybe he’ll hit the ball this time, maybe he won’t” it becomes awesome

At O’s / Phillies for awhile me and my dad were trying to predict the next pitch based on his recent patterns, how far ahead or behind the count, left or right handed batter etc and getting some of them right. That stuff’s fun for me haha

 

Well you can’t actually walk anywhere. You’re staying in basically one place.

 

My dad is converting to an Orioles fan and going back to being a Jags fan with me and I’m so here for it. Finally convinced him DC sports ain’t shit and that if he’s retiring near Jacksonville he better be a fan lol

 

This is the first season I’ve really sat down and watched and I’m enjoying it. Don’t understand all the stats but then same goes for football lol. Also great that I can do other stuff at the same time and not really miss much.

 

this is not true at all, when I watched hockey with my buddies that all played hockey there is more than enough to discus.

Baseball is my favorite to passively follow (w/ fantasy, throwing a random game on, etc), football is my favorite to actively watch/follow

all playoff formats but NFL and March Madness are too long and bloated to keep my attention unless My Team is playing in them

 

Went to the movies and it rained while I was inside. Came out and it’s as warm as an ogre’s hog.

Im with Matt. The NHL playoffs are perfect. They’re long but not too long, they’re an absolute war, and it’s by far the sport with the best odds for an underdog story. Goalie gets hot at the right time and shit gets wild.

 

baseball is actually my favorite. i can undserstand basketball and hockey fans finding it boring but football fans it kind of doesnt sit right w me. theyre very similarly paced

 

I like them when I have a dog in the fight, but it’s asking a whole lot of the viewership to actively follow a 2 month long playoff to have the end payoff being a boring Florida Panthers team winning a cup
