At best you could try to argue that at the start of a baseball game 2/18 players are involved (pitcher/batter), but this negates the catcher who is often suggesting to the pitcher what to throw.

Baseball is maybe the truest team sport because one player cannot even begin to carry the team for the length of the season. As soon as the batter hits the ball, the infielders have less than a second to react if it's anything other than a pop up. If there's runners on, any fielder who gets the ball has to calculate where they should throw it at the same time that the other fielders need to determine where to be and get there fast enough to make the play. The fielder who actually gets the ball needs to make an accurate throw, etc.

How many bang/bang plays are there where you need slow-mo to determine if the runner is out or safe? It happens all the time because it's a game of inches.

Insane take from you that only 1/9 is involved at the beginning. You're better than that and I expect more out of you
