Apparently I have two tickets to tonight’s show in Boston when I only need one. So far it hasn’t sold out but if anyone needs a ticket, let me know.

Love all three records. Perhaps this is one of my favorite three record runs of all time. In Lieu of Flowers is my AOTY so far for 2024.

HOWEVER, I have been skipping a track on In Lieu of Flowers.... Whiplash just doesn't do it for me.

Roman Candles might be one of my favorite songs I've ever heard. So damn good.

I wish that I could bottle the energy and the communal joy I feel when I see this band perform live. Last night was incredible.

The Wonder Years are my favorite band, but Dan is my favorite writer/musician in general and the AW project is about as special to me as it gets. There is so much passion and pure joy from every single person on that stage. After the opening song, they couldn't stop smiling and neither could I. It just felt fucking great.

If you like this project, I implore you to find a way to make it out to see them. You won't regret it. Always great to see Future Teens, too. The new songs sounded excellent! And Maura Weaver was fun!

    They sounded incredible tonight!

Two cool tidbits about the show:

A joke was made on stage about the sea foam green guitar and Aaron played half of G Train acoustic but didn't remember all the chords in the song

Dan came out on stage as himself before the Aaron West set and played a song called Pool Day he wrote with his son Wyatt while he was away in Alask last week. Wyatt wrote the lyrics and Dan recorded it and said we'll never hear that version, but he played the song live tonight. So incredibly sweet.

They fixed your brain when you were young.

The chorus was honestly pretty fire.

Some guy was heckling every band pretty heavily tonight but he interrupted Dan mid banter 2-3 times. He was trying to take it in stride and engage with him but the dude apparently said something that was pretty fucked up so Dan asked security to toss him. Couldn’t hear what he said from where I was but he was clearly hammered. Shook Dan so bad he talked about it like 3-4 songs later.

Very fucking lame but the show was incredible and we got Going to Georgia!

Just got home from the show, was really really great despite it being one thousand degrees in the venue

Dan had technical difficulties with his guitar, so while it was being fixed he played 3 solo songs on an electric

    Going To Georgia
    Orchard Park
and My Backwards Walk by Frightened Rabbit

unfortunately they had to cut a song and were deciding between St Luke’s and Spitting In The Wind, and they cut Spitting In The Wind
