There is something inherently powerful about driving an older model car.

Ego maniacs in their souped up trucks and fancy/expensive new cars wanna drive like an asshole and risk accidents with me? Go for it! My 2012 Ford with 180K+ miles have no fear getting dinged up on the road (or by carts in parking lots). Us older model / high mileage crew hold all the power!

I love my Toyota Corolla. I wanted a Subaru Impreza but my lil Toyota has been a dependable lil guy. Idk how people get a new car every five seconds cause I want mine to outlive me with how much it cost and then all the ongoing maintenance like oil changes and stuff

my dad has always been absolutely ridiculous about getting new cars for him and my mom but i try and drive mine til i absolutely cant which unfortunately for me has never been that long because i either have horrible luck or make really really bad decisions involving my cars

  7. I had a Prius for a while and it was perfect. I have a Subaru now and it’s a good car but I probably will go back to Toyota when I’m done with it. Old jeeps are also good.

I had bad luck with a 98 grand Cherokee in high school but my parents had a 2020 rubicon that they loved during the pandemic

My last job I had a company vehicle. Was a brand new 2020 Ford Transit van. When my company sold they were nice enough to sell it to me for $3,000. I sold it for $27,000 and we bought a new Rav 4 Hybrid. It’s the best.

we now have that, our family car which is a 2020 KIA Sorento, and I drive our 2013 Prius C for work. So we’re a Toyota/KIA house now

Has anyone here had a positive experience with CBT therapy? I'm hoping to try therapy again to deal with anxiety.

Today was my last day of school. Year six is done. New school district, new grade. It was rough, but I made it, and I considered it a learning year and next year will be so much better. I promised my kids I would eat a super hot pepper if they came on the last day of school. Barbecue sauce and lemonade are sometimes too spicy for me. I went to the store yesterday and googled the scoviles for the peppers they had and chose a habanero. I took a bit and chugged some of a gallon of milk I brought. It wasn’t that bad, so I took more bites…but it kicked in shortly after. My mouth, lips, and tongue were numb for a while, but I honestly expected worse. I’m excited to play video games and read for two months. Let’s gooooo.

  17. Absolutely yes. Just know you won’t always find a perfect therapist match on your first try. But when you do find a match it’s incredibly helpful.

brother, you have been through a lot this year and I have seen you grow so much. I’m very proud. I know this might not have much to do with your post (but it always does, right?) but I just wanted to say that I only want the best for you and I hope you know that. keep making me proud

  19. Yep. I got lucky and found a great therapist pretty much immediately, which is not always the case, but it has absolutely been beneficial for my anxiety and depression.

I've had some ok experiences. My last therapist was probably my favorite, but we mainly just did talk therapy which gave me someone to vent to, but there were no techniques or anything she recommended to help me. And having Kaiser kinda sucks because of the way they approve you to work with therapists not working directly for them.
