really fun. i went in totally blind thinking Linklater made an action movie

 

kinda wish they kept the story in the 90s like irl, obviously there are still murder for hire schemes but I feel like there have to be less now
also Gary doesn't count as ACAB but sadly Claude does

otherwise it ruled

Fun. Not as great as I wanted it to be, but a good smart rom com. 3/5. Powell and Arjona are movie stars.

 

Really enjoyed this. Not my favorite of the year (Dune 2 will be really hard to beat), but definitely top three.

That scene is so good. Definitely the high point. Love when there are layers in a movie. Performance inside performance inside performance inside performance, movie is worth a watch for that scene alone.

 

the scene that killed me was him freaking out at her having killed someone and yelling "I'm a fake hitman!" and then her face afterwards

So many great small moments in this like that - the way Ron takes off his belt and just carelessly chucks it over his shoulder in the sexy pilot scene was so good lol

 

Some great work from Jasper too. Sniffing around like a dog gag was good. Also loved the “you good?” exchange between him and Gary in the car on their way to confront Madison

 

yeah austin amelio needs to book a bunch of work off of this

 

I saw Everybody Wants Some!! in an empty theater opening weekend. My stock in these guys is finally popping off

 

Almost forgot about Twisters this summer too. This is definitely Powell’s coronation year.

 

This ruled. A total bravura movie star performance from Powell. Happy for that guy.

 

I thought she was great in Andor but now it’s official I have a huge crush on Adria. She did a great job. Glenn killed it as usual. That scene where he’s mucking it up with a trumper and slaps his dick was 10/10

 

I don’t think I’ve been that charmed by an actress in a role like that since maybe Mila Kunis in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”

 

Very surprised by the ending. I didn't think it was going to stick to the romance, I was expecting a twist that she was conning him, especially since he had trouble finding information on her at the beginning.

 

Just rewatched everybody wants some and Powell absolutely has the juice.

 

Oh man, fatal snowboarding accidents are the worst.
