I had no idea that keegan person from twitter was in this band, what a huge bummer that guy fuckin sucks

 

He's really put me off this band, yeah, totally get it

 

Might go back on Twitter just to tell him to keep my hometown's name out of his mouth.

I am kind of curious what this song has to do with Normal. The lyrics aren't really specific.

 

I didn’t even realize it was a real town name, I thought it was just a play on their “weird” songs. Weird Carolina, Weird Florida, Normal Illinois.

 

Ben Folds also mentioned the town on Way to Normal/"Effington"

 

I’ve driven through it probably a dozen times and just took a train that had a stop there. It’s just outside Bloomington

 

I was at the show where he improvised some of what became that song. The actual town is called Effingham and I wish he would have kept that.

 

Song is decent, but I feel like it's produced in a way that sounds pretty flat and uninspiring. Or is it just me?

Really enjoyed the brass parts though. Feels less immediate than a lot of the last album.

 

Yeah that douche has almost completely turned me off of this band

 

These guys peaked with Bobby for me. That song is so immediate and has a hook I can still hum today with zero thought.

listen I’m not one to discount a band because I think a member is annoying but god that guy fuckin sucks lmao it’s just so hard to get past

 

He's insufferable enough that if I was in a band with him I would need him to delete the app until he proved he could be normal
