I’m almost positive R2D2 has dealt with fire before in space.

Star Wars fans love to hate Star Wars.

Ya know, I don't think I've really thought about just how many full planets Star Wars has blown up lol

I think Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae are doing a good job. Idk, maybe I have low standards.

if any of them have wooden acting, i'd maybe say it's Rebecca Henderson? i haven't read any High Republic material, so maybe Vernestra is supposed to be more blunt, but she's a tiny bit more direct than what i was expecting. idk. no problems with Dafne Keen, and Charlie Barnett is fine to me.

If there is any legit criticism again Headland to be levied, it probably the nepotism of casting her wife in that role, when so far it seems like she isn't very good in that part.

I wouldn't say the acting is wooden, but some of the dialogue is not great. Standard Star Wars and the actors are doing a pretty decent job with what they're given. Osha and Yord were slight standouts to me

Glad that Jecki is so far clearly the fan favorite, as she should be.

There is also a sizable growing YordGang contingent online .

one i've seen complaints about is "attack me with all your strength", both its content and delivery, and i don't really have a problem with this? Amandla's delivery makes Mae seem super eager compared to the Jedi's general stoicism (even if she's 2/2 so far). it's a nice contrast and works for her character.

"Episode 3 breaks Star Wars," from the same people who brought you, "fire in space broke Star Wars."

I read a few reviews about the "breaks Star Wars" thing, and I wouldn't get too excited. It's basically a thing that anyone that watches/reads a bunch of Star Wars stuff already kind of knows, and something that has been kind of touched on in books/animated series multiple times already.

The idea that The Jedi have a monopoly on the force, are not open to different interpretations of light vs dark that might conflict with their doctrine, and might actually be overall bad as an institution for society Apparently the show "goes there" but then immediately backtracks and pulls it's punch.

    From the Slate review:

I decided to read those spoilers above. And seriously? That’s all it is? People are big time dumb.

For what it's worth, I saw an (unverified) spoiler for Ep 3 that suggests it's a bit more than that. Not to say that the bad faith shit is any less annoying or exaggerated.

I get someone who only has seen live action stuff thinking that is some untouched radical universe breaking idea..it's really not.

I mean, some of it was touched on in The Last Jedi.

I read a little bit more into what they're mad about..again this is all concepts that have existed in Star Wars expanded universe lore for decades...lol

Specifically the concept about the nature of the force, and how it isn't exactly black/white has been explored in The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, and in Legends novels long before that lmao.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I'm not really seeing the acting criticisms for this honestly. no-one here is as stiff as Rosario Dawson was in Ahsoka and I'm saying that as a huge fan of that show

specifically Stenberg is killing it so far imo, you can tell just by the way she's using physicality and turning charisma on/off which twin she's playing before anybody says a word. that kind of stuff always impresses me. but I have a massive crush on her too so there's probably some bias here lol

X-Men '97 was the only Disney+ original this year that could be close to being as big of deal
