I absolutely adore Palms. TBEITBN never really hit for me, and I was concerned that I no longer connected with my favorite band since that was two records in a row that were just ok to me.

But Palms, the EP, and Horizons have more than dispelled me of my concerns.

I was a very casual fan prior to their hiatus. I have loved every record since they have been back at it full time. Whether their music is your cup of tea or not, it is hard to argue that they are not one of the most consistent bands in the genre they are from that can also maintain continual meaningful artistic growth and creativity as they go. Also Dustin’s solo stuff is incredible Pistol from his first record was our first dance at my wedding.

Caught their set on one of MWY’s last runs. Their live show takes it to a whole new level IMO. Appreciate them even more since that.

  5. Despite them playing in nowhere IL and playing zero Illusion of Safety songs, the Beggars tour was maybe one of the best Thrice sets I ever saw, I might have to make a trip to see this.

  6. TBEITBN is growing on me more as I get older, especially The Long Defeat (oof)

Thrice is the best band. And Manchester rules so I’m very excited for the SF show.

    Fight the long defeat.

Yeah, I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't be excited for these shows. Thrice's live performances are as good as they've ever been, and frankly so are Manchester's.

They’re two of my top 5 live bands ever and I’ve seen em both tons of times, thrice more but I try not to miss either if I can

Horizons / East is also great. Sometimes I think it’s in my top five from them. I love the tones and grooves all over that album. Really tight stuff

TBEITBN holds a pretty special place in my heart. That first post hiatus tour they played Orlando the night of the Pulse shooting and they did a bit of an extended tag to The Long Defeat. Waking up the next morning and weeding through all the news and information, I ended up walking around a lake downtown and with that song on repeat just trying to process it all. Seeing that song live brings me back to that place.

It was also the first album I started on my road trip moving out of Florida so it’s got a lot behind it for me.

there was a period of time where you had a 50/50 shot of seeing this band with la dispute or obrother and in one case both

Me and my friend joke about it a lot but we only ever caught O’B live on that MM/LD tour and missed them every time after on subsequent tours. Real bummer. We were new to them and so impressed when they played that MM/LD tour

I think they opened with Malum at Ace of Spades and it was before Garden Window was out. Everyone in that venue was blown away and we were all stunned how heavy it was

They’re building a brand new venue downtown for mid to larger sized crowds so it’s possible

I’ve seen obrother a good few times mostly opening for thrice or Manchester orchestra and once for the dear hunter but I did get to see them headline a tiny room around the time garden window came out
