To each their own. I think it rules, at least 12-13 bands I'd go see.

EDIT: I have no frame of reference of what Mayhem normally is or was expected to be, only that this features a ton of bands I've seen live and enjoyed and would see again, or that I'd like to see.

It’s been headlined before by slipknot, disturbed, a7x, korn, and rob zombie

Bad Omens is such a sick headliner. Just because something isn’t your cup of tea doesn’t make it bad lol

Unarguably bigger names... but better? To me absolutely not. I pretty much hate all those bands besides the odd banger from each that everyone loves, but for the most part that's a lineup of corny, goofy, gimmicky has beens.

Either way, everyone's got their tastes. It'll either sell well or it won't. I'd go if I could.

Dope for you. Different strokes, not gonna yuck on someone else's yum, etc.

The only bands on this I'd want to see are Darkest Hour, It Dies Today, and Unearth. I've seen Darkest Hour and Unearth multiple times (and I don't really have any desire to see Darkest Hour in 2024 if they're playing their more recent material - the new album honked). If It Dies Today was playing The Caitiff Choir in full like they're doing at the Trustkill show in Jersey in the fall, it miiiight be worth it, but I generally don't want to support anything Ash Avildsen has his hands on in 2024. Dude just sucks in general.

I’d have gone to Mayhem Fest if it wasn’t the same weekend as Aftershock. There’s no bands I’m dying to see here, but a lot of bands I enjoy that I’ve seen a handful of times that would be a lot of fun to see on the second stages after pounding some cold ones at the Glen Helen parking lot with a bunch of friends.

A lot of people hate on the Glen Helen, but I’ve had some of my best summer memories going to Mayhem Fest back in the day with a group of friends. I’m looking forward to attending it next year.

It's funny how we don't have warped tour anymore but have sad summer, summer school tour, and 20 years of tears. Like if only it could be combined into 1

I’d go if I wasn’t already traveling across the country for WWWY a week later. I’m not big on the headliners (I don’t care for Parkway Drive’s or Architects’ newer material), but I think it’s time we start seeing some new bands headlining these fests and not the same 8-10 nu-metal or washed up 80s acts. Those older acts won’t be here for forever.

Sumerian vs. Hawthorne Heights, no matter the outcome they’ll find a way to make it even worse.

When We Were Young has entered the chat.

Honestly, a tour of Warped Tour's size wouldn't be economically viable at this point. Not at an exceptionally higher price point, anyway. Nor would they be able to convince the appropriate number of older bands to do the tour each year that would satiate anybody in the 30+ demo. So it would skew younger and into genres that aren't what people mean when they say they want Warped Tour back...

Nobody really wants the 2024 version of Warped Tour. They want the tour back the way they remember it when it was 16. Which is probably why it'll remain dead or just come back as a single-weekend festival at some point.

It becoming a multi destination festival makes sense. No way would we ever get a touring festival how it used to be.

Doing something like they did in 2019 would be a hit ticket, I think. But no way would a tour work now

I love the idea of When We Were Young, but it’s during the worst time of the year for me for work so I’ll likely never be able to go. Adjacent was a pretty nice compromise last year. I really hope they bring that back next summer

I know it’s logistically easier to do WWWY in Las Vegas, but I’d love for them to move it to a location like Ventura Fairgrounds. It’s on the beach, the weather is gorgeous, and it’s already hosted Warped Tour.

I swear, as much action as the northeast sees as far as live music is concerned... Any and all rock festivals in this region are doomed to fail. Haha. There have been a few of varying sizes over the last decade or so and I swear none of them have lasted more than a year.

All Things Go seems to be doing well by narrowing in on specific demos (women/queer) with a Goldilocks curation of “mostly cohesive” and genreless. It also aims to be a smaller capacity, bigger scale, event.

Firefly and Gov Ball going for the massive crowds and wide spanning bill feels tough to pull off here, while Adjacent might’ve been more successful in a major market/smaller venue than the beach.

Ventura Fairgrounds are underrated. Warped fucked up by not going there in 2016 and 17 (also inconvenience for me because it was the closest date to my hometown)

I'm talking about something rock/punk/hardcore/emo/whatever leaning. Something the Warped Tour, Riot Fest, WWY, and Fest crowds would enjoy with a side of Wimmer. Similar to what Adjacent did, really.

All those are just variations on the standard festival template. You're right in that All Things Go is pretty heavily curated but at least 50% of the line-up is standard US pop-leaning festival fare. Not a bad thing. Just not what I'm speaking about. Haha.
