Also, I'm not going to argue that dogs should be allowed inside the grocery store or where food is being prepped, I agree there, but the "stop pretending your dogs are your kids" people need to get over themselves lol

 

The term dog mom/dad just annoys me, it makes you sound like a child. Also yes, I am a curmudgeon at times.

I went to a block party type event in Chicago Sunday and the amount of people with dogs that looked like the dog was walking them was insane. Well trained dogs are one thing but if the dog is yanking on the leash dragging you around don’t bring it to a crowded event!!! some dude with a huge pitbull got super close to my gf because they had no control over the dog and she had a panic attack

Also for the record I am not anti kid lol. For a long time I thought I wanted to have one, but there’s just too many factors against it for my wife and I now. If people want to have kids then good for them! I am, however, anti stick an iPad in front of a kids face and not do any parenting to them and letting them run wild in public

 

People who give their phones to their kids give me the craziest anxiety, like what if they drop and break it?

 

I think people see a kid misbehaving in public and automatically think “that’s a bad kid” or “that’s a bad parent”. You might be witnessing a rough ten minutes of an otherwise perfectly fine day. I’ve been embarrassed in public by my sons actions and it really sucks but it happens sometimes.

people’s attitudes towards kids misbehaving in public is worse than kids misbehaving imo. sure shitty parents exist but the vast majority are doing their fucking best in a society that is constantly making it as hard as fucking possible to just exist in let alone raise one or multiple kids
