I've brought him up on some Beyonce threads in the past. Really shocked (but also not shocked) he's been able to keep up a lucrative writing career.

 

Can someone help me understand why Melanie Martinez has such an obsessive following still? Do people just…not care that she was accused of sexual assault?

I'm usually completely tuned out of top 40/pop stuff but I’m seeing so much love for her on this tour she’s doing now from people I follow on socials and it’s odd.

I’ve never gotten the appeal.

 

I had never heard of her until yesterday when I walked by Target Center (basketball arena in Minneapolis) and there were thousands of people lined up waiting for doors to open… like a shocking amount- all dressed in a very specific aesthetic. So I looked up who was in town and it was her. Interesting to find out there are allegations..

 

I feel like a lot of people don't take abuse claims seriously when the accused is female, even if the alleged victim is also female.

 

Yeah, we definitely have a little ways to go in that department.
