Some silly placements, but one of the better Album lists I've seen in some time.

I agree, miles better than the Apple list.

Very solid list. In general I find "why is this thing I care about so low/missing" dialogue to be a bit silly with these things, but I do kinda feel like the Radiohead placements feel a bit try hard. (The combo of IR highest, the highest being fairly far from the top, and the absence of Kid A is all a bit surprising for a publication that generally plays it as down the middle as Paste.)

    The rivalry is back on

Very much one of those boomer “the peak of recorded music was between 1965-1975” type of lists with half of the top 40 in that decade span

I will take this 300/300 times over slipping a 2 year old album in the top 20

  8. Illinois is not only on the list but in the top 40 so I am willing to forgive a lot of sins this list may have on further inspection lol

Stevie Wonder being so prominent means it's a list me and my Dad can both get behind haha.

I am excited to dig in to the ones I haven’t heard/aren’t super familiar with. One of these days I will get into the Beatles, but it isn’t today.

    The rivalry is back on

Idk, Apple Music’s list leaned too recent, but I strongly prefer a more even time distribution to the same boring “the peak of music was when people my parents’ age were in their teens” take we’ve gotten for so long on these types of lists.

This is more 80s centric and obscure than pretty much any “best of” list I can think of. Kate Bush and The Cure in the top 3 is incredible stuff. Their 60s and 70s picks contain the usual suspects, sure, but also have a lot I haven’t heard

I got unreasonably mad that lonesome crowded west was 300 and stopped reading.

Maybe it's just me, but putting "6 Continents" in your tweet and then having like 10 albums from Asia, Africa, and South America combined is pretty dumb.

I understand there's a language bias to English lists, but there were 300 spots and like 40 contributors.

Will that documentary help me to like Abbey Road more?

I treat these lists as a source of recommendations. I've never gotten into Modest Mouse before and I'm listening to The Lonesome Crowded West now and I'm really liking it
