i think Sabrina Sutherland said he's working on music at the moment, so it's probably not TP related

  6. I tried to watch this ten or so years ago and gave up on it (might have made it through the first season), but I'm giving it another shot.

S2 has its fans (my partner loved it), but it's generally a bit harder to get through. ends on a Lynchian high note that segues right into FWWM and S3.

  8. I'm determined to finish it all (unless I truly hate it) since Blank Check is covering Lynch later this year. I'm just on S1E3 now.

if it helps, lots of people rank S3 as one of the best parts of Lynch's filmography, myself included. if nothing else, it's worth it to get to that.

I’ve always felt the first 8 or so episodes of season 2 are the best part of the original run, as well as the final episode. obviously falls off significantly in-between but I personally hold season 2 in higher esteem than most for that reason. and imo in the right mood the goofiness of the rest has its charm, even if it’s obviously the worst part of the show. I adore season 3 and FWWM, and they’re maybe my favorite pieces of the TP universe, but they’re also very distinctly different things from the og show.

enjoy! always so jealous of first-time watchers and curious to hear what you think.

for what it's worth, I generally think s2 gets more hate than it deserves, even the second half of the season. it's really one or two plot threads that drag, and even those instances have elements you can garner enjoyment from. the ramp-up into the finale, the finale itself, and literally everything that comes next is just so truly special, that everything that came before it is worth your patience in getting there.

I still feel s3 is the best thing this last decade of television has to offer.

The single is also worth a listen. Gorgeous and strange. It feels like a Twin Peaks sequence.

  23. Finished season one today. The soap opera elements really aren't my thing, but I love every moment with Cooper as well as the surreal/weird stuff.

the surreal stuff gets a lot bigger towards the end of S2, and is the centerpiece of FWWM and S3. you're in for a treat.

I’d argue the soap opera moments are what helps keep it grounded in reality. I love surreal anything but you might appreciate them more the more you watch tbh
