I don’t know why I even slightly doubted that they were that stupid. How are you expected to not pirate it, use a VPN, change your store location, or any other tricks people probably have? That’s just dumb as shit and kinda fucked up that they basically treat you like an afterthought. Most of our best actors are from there for Christ’s sake.

Several hours ahead of us, but also 6 months behind us. lol

It's mostly A24 stuff honestly. I think they find another distributor for UK release and that sometimes takes longer? I'm not sure. Maxxxine was originally announced for like a month later and that's been moved up so hopefully it's getting better but yeah there's not even a release date for Tv Glow.

That scene was pretty affective for me in theaters. Felt like I couldn’t breathe

I mean I get it and it’s obviously not that easy, but you’d think they’d get the ball rolling faster to make it easy. People will pirate Maxxxine because they get it 3 months after the US digital release, the movie then won’t make money there, they’ll say “this just isn’t the market for these movies, they obviously just hate female led horror movies” or some stupid shit like that because they’re completely incapable of figuring out any of the very obvious problems they created.

Oh damn that sounds awesome. I guess it was just lost on us since it was on a TV with basic speakers. I texted my friend that watched it a couple of days ago and her and her wife thought the same thing about the TV breaking. So that’s a bummer I missed the chance at that reaction. Maybe it’ll work for me more on my rewatch

Could have just been a theater experience but it was wild. Haven’t rewatched it at home yet so I’m wondering if it’ll hit me like that again when I do

  7. I'm gonna be real with you guys, I do not remember this cut to black lol

My wife and I did Swimfan last night as our Saturday night movie. Neither of us had seen it but it was such a dumb blast.

Follow it up with Cyber Seduction (His Secret Life) for a perfect double feature. (Joking btw)

Swimfan is a great early 2000s thriller.

My wife made me watch the shitty Lifetime movie. It’s our tradition to watch one a month per her choice.

Who doesn’t want to see a 2000s movie on teenage porn addiction and the danger???

It happens when she is dancing with the guy at the club. She licks his face, it suddenly cuts to black, and then it opens with a close up of a spider crawling on her face the next morning.

Yeah the cut just felt too jarring for us and then it felt a couple seconds too long, so it completely took us out of the movie thinking something broke.

For some reason my mind went to the scene when she's locked in the room and engulfed in darkness while the woman approaches her. That's what I was referring to earlier haha

Finally caught I Saw the TV Glow on Friday. Loved it. Was going to try and squeeze in In A Violent Nature for a double feature, but think I’m going to check that out Tuesday.

In a Violent Bature was good! An interesting subversion of a lot of classic tropes. Feels like a cult film for sure.
