I made a very sincere promise to myself that for the first time in a long time I wouldn't listen to any other new songs from them until release day. Like, I had a moment with myself.

Instantly and I mean instantly listened to sorrow machine.

I’m telling myself the same thing. We’ll see how long it lasts. So far so good but it’s gonna be a long few months.

 

Can't wait to burn myself out on both of these songs like I did for Too Quick To Forgive.

 

Part of me doesn’t want to get burned out, but like, it’s been 8 years. I’m allowed to burn myself out if I want, won’t matter a year from now.

 

As someone who listened to Postcard a million times before LWM came out, we’ll all be ok getting lost in the Sorrow Machine

 

Gonna tear into these two as much as I feel like but will do my best to hold off on anything else. Tbh the live TTWTWM vinyl totally breathed new life into the studio album for me, so I’m good to just be chillin on that whenever I get the B&C crave

 

What a lovely day it’s been. This band being back is a good omen

 

Both new songs are great, but they both maintain the same dynamic all the way through, save for the occasional heavy flourish. They're just more interested in vibes now.

 

Enjoying these tunes, that press release settles some nerves. Hoping for some loud shit. Biiiiiig mewithoutYou vibes on sorrow machine, too. Paper Hanger especially.

Oh heck yeah, that’s why I like it so much. Drums remind me a lot of Dormouse Sighs. Speaking of a band that’s perfected the art of restraint and tension and release.

 

So the album must rule then, eh?

 

The Studio 4 session hasn't been made available digitally yet, has it? Dying to listen again. Never ended up ripping it.

 

No, and my turntable doesn’t have a USB out anymore, so I can’t rip it that way either.

BC always probably my favorite band from the scene, stoked they’re back let’s go

 

someone just recommended these guys to me when i said i wanted recs like mewithoutyou. these two new songs are great. i remember not liking their debut when it came out cause the vocals weren’t really for me, so i haven’t followed them since. does the old stuff hold up, is it worth revisiting?

 

Definitely, but he sounds pretty much the same, except he does some yelling on the first two albums

 

don't worry, over half of it will be released by then since its only 10 tracks.

 

oh and the two new songs sound exactly the same lol

man these singles sound so great

 

my stance on listening to singles before albums is let er rip

 

Probably just start with the newest and work your way back. Next thing I would check out is the Too Quick to Forgive and Slowheart EPs, then Light We Made. The Things We Think Are Missing and Separation are much more aggressive, so depending on which MWY you vibe with (I’m an Untitled guy myself) you might not dig the early stuff.
