Brad is the perfect example of all bron, no brains. I dont dislike him, just never actually think he will win a Challenge these days. Shame too cause he did great on previous season. Im still rooting hard for Cara. I'm even impressed with (blanking on his name at moment- the guy who quit a final partnered with Jenna cause he wouldnt eat. it was her ex.)

 

That's Jay. I've been impressed with him and Derek. Very solid performers this season.

 

yeah for real! Derek has impressed me too, but that's just his endurance. He isn't a physical threat at all compared to anyone else.

Still watching Ride or Dies to finish because I was getting confused with episodes of All Stars watching them together.

Okay Ride or Dies I’m at Devin and Tori about to name who they’re throwing into the elimination (episode is the ice bath challenge). I really really like Moriah, is this a common thought? She’s just super cool and chill, too bad it forces me to root for Faysal.

Olivia and Horacio are a great pair, honestly would be sad if they get eliminated before the final.

I wanted Nany to win a final but then she and Johnny called everyone else idiots for not sending in Johnny so far. Fuck em both

Jordan/Aneesa and Tori/Devin I don’t really care about any of them. Go Olivia and Horacio, win it all!

 

Seriously. I love seeing Brad, he's got a special place in my heart lol. His season on TRW and his countless seasons in the challenge, he's made for great TV. Is his prime in the past? Every season I want to say yes but he keeps coming back LOOKING like a beast. Yet he fails to deliver, so I dunno.

No brains brad. He's in a A+ group on 40 so here's hoping something happens!

I'm caught up on this season of All Stars. When I tried to convince my sister to watch season 1 when this originally started, she said the contestants looked too old and sad. Haha. This season has my interest with Cara Maria, Laurel, Nicole, Leroy, and Kam. Are the past seasons worth catching up on?

I've loved each daily challenge from this all stars season. Anytime they have to do math (I'm a math teacher), it is supremely entertaining. I'm proud of Leroy for working on his mental math skills, and very embarrassed for Cara. Also, TJ seems to be having a lot of fun, huh. I like how he participated in the water challenge.

 

Id say the All Star seasons are all definitely worth watching if you were a fan of the earlier challenge seasons. It’s fun catching up with some of these people we haven’t seen in years and years. Plus they’re only 10 episodes each so they can be quick watches.

 

Personally, I think the past seasons are great. YMMV tho, I think a lot of it has to do with how familiar you are with the cast, like if you knew them then from their RW seasons or past challenges. Because a lot of the people, they haven't been seen in a WHILE. That and this show really is different than the flagship it seems. It really feels like a throwback to when it was just (as other challengers have said) "circus games", before it was something you had to actually train for. And yeah, I think TJ is having fun on All-Stars, he genuinely seems to enjoy seeing these people back. Cuz also remember, he's seen their story evolve over the past 2 decades.....like the Jay quitting situation and how far Leroy has come!


I really wish the show was just OGs but it seems like that's no longer the case for next season. Oh well, it was good while it lasted :[

 

Ok that wasn't a fun episode at all. The hypocrisy, the bullying, the gaslighting....I feel bad for Cara and it really reminded me of her early early seasons where the entire house was against her.

"It's an individual game" Kam says, then proceeds to rally the entire house to work FOR her to ensure Cara doesn't win.



Also I find it funny how at the beginning of the season, Kam and Leroy had a podcast discussing the episodes as they came out but announced they were quitting it a couple episodes in, apparently due to them not liking how they got cast in the "villain" role and the fans' reception to it. Look, I know Cara has her army that will die defending her and I can see fans being split down the middle as to "is Kam being mean" this season in the episodes leading up to this, but after this episode I can't see how anyone can NOT be on Cara's side. Yes Kam, you ARE the villain this season. No, editing didn't do it, watch your confessionals back and you'll see why fans came at you.

 

What is the original reason that Kam doesn’t like Cara? Just because she’s so good?

It was so embarrassing watching Laurel act like that too. Laurel wake up, Nicole doesn’t even want you in her bed, she’s using you like Cara predicted. Usually I like Laurel, but that was horrible.

 

AS5 cast is starting to leak. And right now, as someone on Reddit said: "it's flagship fodder" lolol. As of the moment, no names from 39 that we feared (except you know who and her bff) and judging by this short list (so far) it really could have been called season 41 instead of AS5. We'll be getting more names eventually and I'm sure it'll be newer newer people but I wonder what kinda black magic voodoo Mark pulled to change things up. Because I'm seeing names that weren't part of the leaks before that definitely have me interested and I'm not seeing names from earlier leaks that would have been a decent pull. We shall seeeee.

They're both super competitive, but they were actually FRIENDS outside of the game and coming into this season if I remember correctly. It was the whole Cara refusing to say Rachel's name earlier in the season when Kam wanted her to that seems to be the catalyst for Kam not liking her now. Unless the edit is hiding stuff, as Kam did say last episode that Cara was spreading lies about her and Leroy and that she never specifically told Cara she was coming for her star (even though we knew she was already by her own statements).

 

Ok AS5 is looking muchhhhhh better. Still, it might as well be 41. There's not much representation of true true OGs like Kefka but there's definitely people we haven't seen in a while that are still capable of being on the flagship if they wanted. And unfortunately there are some people from the most recent seasons.... why? No idea.

All Stars has a lot shorter filming schedule than the flagship. I’m sure that’s a big reason for the people we haven’t seen in a while opting for AS5 instead of 41. The people from the more recent seasons are completely unnecessary on all stars

 

Exactly. I get the argument about not having true OGs but I'm perfectly fine with the remainder of the cast they've assembled EXCEPT for the handful of people that, not only are they NOT MTV originals but they're still super new-ish.

Yeah the length of filming 100% has a lot to do with who wants to return, and I'm glad they're allowing these people to come back. God I'm so glad they reversed course on making this 39.1.

 

I was concerned they were going to ruin all stars based on the initial leaks but it’s looking much more promising now

 

Mark Long MUST have put his foot down considering he's an EP on the show. I'm sure he had issues with it, but then the fan reception gave him some backing to bring it up to other execs. People were extremely vocal and I'm sure they came to some kind of agreement, because I can see Paramount wanting to include the other CBS shows but ok....NOT THAT MANY that the initial leak had! There's a reason Mark came up with #WeWantOGs and the fan reception proves there was a desire to see these people who haven't been in the flagship in forever. There's a reason the 2 shows exist, there's absolutely no need to have challengers who made their debut recently who still appear on the flagship come over to AS. But yeah, enough ranting.....the names they have now make me excited. S40 and AS5 have a great mix of people I've been dying to see make their return and who have just recently returned.

 

Fantastic episode. Can't wait to see impressions, can't wait to hear the podcasts, I cackled at the elimination.

 

Great episode. Laurel sucks. Nicole is so annoying.

 

Couldn't agree more on both points. She's a competitive person and can be a beast, but goddamn her ego. I've never been a fan of hers because she's not likeable at ALL but I see why she's feared in the game. But this episode really proved that she is all talk, and the moment she saw something she MIGHT not be able to brute force? LOL

 

Semi spoiler-ish for anyone who hasn't watched today's episode, but has anyone else noticed that in almost every single elimination, the person who is being hyped up in confessionals as winning the elimination winds up losing. Full spoilers ahead
"Oh wow, Kam has a lead! She's about to eliminate Cara!" (Kam proceeds to lose)" I know they do that with shows like this a lot, but it seems like overkill this season. Maybe it's just a dumb nitpick from me?

 

I TRY not to, because I watch enough reality shows and don't want to think while watching if that makes sense. But I've always felt like the Paramount+ shows have a different editing feel to them, all the other spinoffs that were on here DEFINITELY foreshadowed stuff much more obviously. What was it, USA2 where they always focused on someone early on in the episode and I was like oh they're going home, and SURE ENOUGH.

 

Oh I definitely know what you mean with that. This season hasn't been so bad with foreshadowing during the episodes themselves. They seem to shine a spotlight on enough people early on, that you're still left guessing who could be going into elimination and who will actually go home.
