I say we just skip the warfare all together and have countries settle their differences BattleBots style. Maybe instead of 1v1 you just up it to a royal rumble style with both sides fielding entire armies of droids and robots. Gonna take out a chinese army dog with Tombstone

I used to work at a restaurant by a Lockheed Martin office and I had to serve large groups of them during happy hour at least once a week. Like 20-50 people easily

when he says no one is working two jobs I GUARANTEE you he isn’t including people who uber, doordash, instacart, or do any other kind of gig work on the side

These guys realize that the whole fucking point of Roxanne (and Cyrano de Bergerac before it) is that it is better to be true to yourself and not speak with someone else's words, right?

    correct!

Fastest wage growth over the last four years among historically disadvantaged groups: Low-wage workers’ wages surged after decades of slow growth
    IMG_8186.png

Real wages (aka those adjusted for inflation) have risen most at the bottom end of wage/income brackets. It’s been middle and upper income people whose wages have stagnated out thanks to inflation the last few years. This is shown in many different groups and govt orgs data. As the study says, pointing this out doesn’t equate to saying poor people are fine, as they’ve never been fine. It’s simply pointing out that the inflation that plagued the U.S. economy in late 2021-2022 didn’t hit poorer folks as hard as it did richer folks on average.
Of course housing ownership has become more expensive thanks to Fed interest rate hikes and credit isn’t as cheap anymore, but anyone who likes left wing fiscal policy would be wise to emphasize that that is a different story from Biden’s fiscal policies and the causes for inflation if they’d like more big expansionary fiscal policy to get passed during the next recession. Because right now what politicians are learning is it doesn’t matter if you pass policies that do big spending during downturns to help out poor people, if any inflation occurs people will blame those policies and you’ll get punished for it. Which means the next recession’s recovery will look more like post-2009 where all the wage gains are at the top and unemployment lingers longer. Americans are sending a message that they prefer that to higher prices and better relief for lower income folks. Not good.

it is a pretty underrated sorry how much the wage gaps between certain demos reversed, imo. They’ve been trying to do that for years.

I believe the amount of people with two jobs is roughly 5%, which would be like what, 8.5 million people? That’s probably about right.

edit-ayyye, nailed it. Or, close enough.
8.7 Million Americans Now Work Two Jobs To Make Ends Meet Despite Inflation Continuing To Cool

More Americans have two jobs or more, a sign of inflation's burden
