Meet Me @ The Altar playing Chicago mid-July, probably out.

Hard to tell if these bands will pop on after, or if they'll be a part of Riot... But I think it makes them feel pretty likely. Not locks but damn near close to it. Haha.

EDIT: This also feels like kind of an odd, unexpected combination/short tour. Buzzcocks are also on that final NOFX show in CA too so...

    Give what you can.

Felice Brothers at Wicker Park Fest will be a blast. RIYL: Conor Oberst (they've been his backing band a bunch)/Dr. Dog/Deer Tick

JPEGMAFIA would be fun at Riot

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Honestly, that whole Thursday lineup would be fun at Riot.

I also think this kind of solidifies The Jesus Lizard.

Another note: GBV plays Chicago June 1st. If we suspect that the lineup is announced after that, would that mean they’re back in play? Or nah?

Thursday and Sunday lineups would be great but Waxahatchee might be too Americana/country now a days for Riot Fest

Since they got St. Vincent though I could see Snail Mail playing this year.

Definitely makes the Jesus Lizard look infinitely more likely. Hah. And yeah, I'd say it puts GBV back in play. But... I'd also put GBV in the category of "not sure why a band with their status would hit up the same city twice in a year."

I tend to assume that for most legacy acts who have been active for 30+ years it actually helps them to not play the same city twice in a year because it increases demand, etc. It would also probably help the guarantee and set time they'd get from the festival too.

Takes Oceanator out too which is a bummer. They would have been a great early day Rebel act.

We've talked about it before. He'd be such a fun act at Riot Fest and could easily become a mainstay.

Again, if Riot Fest would just slightly lean into it, they'd find a whole new set of acts to book. Waxahatchee, Wednesday, MJ on his own...just saying.

Riot Fest randomly sliding in a screenshot of their Twitter activity with the caption "CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OUR PASSION" into their latest email is a 10/10 move.

And then, doubling down and saying people should download the app to "get notified first about the Riot Fest 2024 lineup, cause it's happening, eventually."

Apparently the Street Dogs have some other tour dates coming (probably a final tour; though that may have changed over the last few years). Would be a solid mid-afternoon Rebel stage band.

Not that they won't inevitably have a Boston date I can attend... ;-p

How are they going to notify you first about the lineup on the app before social media? Just curious how that would work. I assume it’s just the so people stop harassing the social media person.

They could just update the info on the app before posting about it on social media. Other festivals have done that.

    Will Riot? Almost definitely not.

I can't believe that we are still speculating headliners a day before it becomes June

YOU'RE TEARING ME APART RIOT FEST!!

Third headliner has to be a co or triple headliner situation like last year.
