while I agree with you, the money they're asking for is still Very Real.

 

Yet hades 2 and no rest for the wicked got a ton of them

 

calling Hades 2 an early access game is taking the piss tho

that's like calling, idk, Elden Ring early access because it got patches and some additional content over the years.

 

I dont remember reading any no rest for the wicked reviews

 

Metacritic has 12 pc reviews for it but doesnt even score it out.


I guess im used to doing EA and just finding out myself if its decent.

 

Finally wrapped up Baten Kaitos. It's kind of wild how many parallels the game's story and world have to Xenoblade 2.

Now I'm working through a few short Castlevania games I haven't played yet, starting with Dracula X.

 

Can’t fucking wait for that. I had a dragon quest itch the other day and started 8, love how much charm those games have and the HD 2D style is gonna make those old NES/SNES titles pop

 

plz explain? Hades 2 isn't a complete game. I'm also not entirely sure I understand what taking the piss means.

 

I have a feeling that’s going to end up being the first three dragon quest games

 

As someone who recently played the Demon Slayer and MHA games, I can 100% confirm I miss the old GBA era games.

 

I should replay the Legacy of Goku games and Buu’s Fury

 

All I remember is one of the dragon ball z game boy games was to hard so I rage quit and never beat it

I did see someone suggest Hades 2 should be treated like a full release and everything coming after is a content patch but idk the devs are the ones calling it early access

 

I mostly watch YouTube videos for my review content and I guess YouTubers regularly cover early access but like hades 2 it was one of the only early access titles where the consensus among people I watch was don’t wait it’s good enough now to play

 

Prince of Persia is good, nothing to praise but its pretty fun. Ran fine for me too except when going from one level to the next for a few seconds. Excited to see what they do with it.

 

It’s setting an absurd standard an expectations for both content and polish. The game is already larger than hades 1.

 

I briefly considered this when I first heard the news, but I don't want to get my hopes up, because that would be fucking incredible if true.

 

Player's Log

I finished The Room series. 3 and 4 especially were very involved and the whole series is just bunches of fun if you love a certain kind of puzzle game. The story is vague occult nonsense though; good luck trying to understand what the series is actually about. Not that important though.

Anyway, I'm continuing this theme with the works of Rusty Lake. Macabre is the word that comes to mind for their stuff, and there's a lot of occult nonsense there too, and an equally indecipherable plot. I've played a couple of their games before, but now I'm going full blast from the start to the finish. I already did some bits of Cube Escape Collection, and I'm continuing in relatively chronological order.

 

the early access vs full release thing reminds me of the album vs mixtape arguments in hip hop when streaming came along and the distinction didn’t really matter anymore. I guess it’s like open beta but yeah when a game drops in early access and it’s fully formed what do you do with that

I mean it’s def confusing. Is it an open beta? Kind of but there’s a price tag on it so not really. It’s one of those unique things in the indie game world you don’t see anywhere else
