Yeah this is fair, I like the combat but I appreciate that it's not a super in-depth system. The writing is fucking incredible tho

this is like my general thread for everything so all I’m saying is I’ve been seeing like the guitarist for Polyphia I think on TikTok doing cool covers of other songs so now I’m checking them out. Idk what to expect really lol.

They’re very Okay and have some Good Songs but not something I’d listen to regularly. Tim’s a wizard on guitar. They just suffer the same problem most overtly progressive instrumental bands have like animals as leaders where technical prowess takes precedent over song writing and they get lost in the sauce a bit

 

I think this is my first experience with pure instrumental bands and it’s not bad at all. I actually enjoy it a bit. The two songs I listened to were playing god and ego death but yeah I’ve never really checked out instrumental bands even though I’m a huge sucker for pure instrumental interludes and such

 

I listen to a lot of instrumental music, the progressive metal side of it is not really my fav but it’s pretty tight

I dig explosions in the sky, tides of man, Sigur ros (not strictly instrumental), trna (Russian instrumental black metal shoegaze), Bossk, sannhet, etc plus all the instrumental electronic stuff I listen to and used to make on my own

 

this might be my favorite instrumental full band album of all time and is a staple when I’m looking for something to game to

 

I saw OPM at Coachella because of a suggestion and I was so blown away by his set that I started to check out all the instrumental stuff.

Oh yeah him lol he had a puppeteer on stage performing and he was in the background it was so cool

 

I missed him at pitchfork fest one year and I’m still bummed about it. I did see some great producers live at that fest in the years I went tho (2012-2015 every year)
