I don't get it either. That lightsaber whip has existed in the canon novels/comics for 3 years, lightsaber whips have existed in Legends novels/comics for 30 years. Other franchises like Star Trek have used laser whips.

It’s basically the same whining that people did about the force projection in TLJ. They don’t like something so it’s Disney’s fault for ruining everything. But if they really cared so much they would know this stuff (and so much actual stupid shit) is from Legends, which is now the sacred text because Disney “took it” from them.

The lightsaber whip is also probably woke somehow too. Lol

I see these AI covers with these types of videos pop up on social media all the time. Now I need to see this but with AI Anakin vocals

there's a 100% chance they'd love the whip if a White cishet male character used it. oh wait, Lucasfilm already made 5 of those movies...

I am halfway through season 1 of Bad Batch. I am fully invested. I love Wrecker.

I like the small touch of starting episode 1 with the standard Clone Wars narration intro, and after the Clone War ends that episode you never hear the dramatic voiceover recap guy again.

I loved when the images of the Jedi Wookie in the Acolyte came out they were like "omg Wookie Jedis?? here Disney goes again with their bullshit", and then all the die hards just spammed them screenshots from all the many times Wookies were Jedis in the animated series/comics/novels lol

And of course the standard response is always " I meant in live action! " as if in their mind if it isn't in live action it shouldn't count. Fans who are truly deeply invested in a franchise would never say shit like that.

It's hard to say it without coming off gatekeeper-ey, but over half the dudes I see saying that stuff online just come off as surface level fans at best. Once you push them a little bit you find out they don't know shit about they're talking about. They just go from franchise to franchise pretending to care enough about media they last consumed 10 years ago so they can be mad online. It's kinda like virtue signaling . They try to do it with every major IP but Star Wars is just the biggest target because of how big it is in "nerd culture".

It's way easier to get a feel for these guys whenever they try to poke their head into the Star Trek fan community, because the "this was ruined by wokeness" narrative just falls on it's face with Star Trek. My favorite was when a guy was like "what is the new Woke Trek going to do next black Romulans? Female Ferengi?" Just for people to point out they already did both of those things 30 years ago.

it really does feel like virtue signaling, like they just have to share their two cents on a forum or social media post to feel better about themselves. nevermind the fact that it's the same damn arguments they've been running with for a decade or two now, as if that's gonna genuinely do anything productive.

like what you like, and if you don't like something, there's no need to make it your personality like so many of them do. go back downstairs and watch your original trilogy VHS tapes in peace.

    Bad Batch season 1 done.

I like that Tech is basically a human protocol droid, and Echo is basically human astromech droid. I like their dynamic.

That moment when you find out Crosshair already removed his chip, and he still supports the empire and barely changed without it so good.

I've been getting really back into reading comics and realized I don't have any Star Wars stuff. Is there like a definitive list of the best/canon SW comics? Preferably available as collected trades

    Timeline of canon media
I found this online, not sure how accurate but looks pretty extensive

I also have this saved for a full cannon timeline, although it's a couple years old now:

thank you for the Wookiepedia link! i had previously been looking at their "timeline of galactic history" to try to see what order everything was in, but this is much more accessible. will definitely reference it when we start a full timeline viewing/rewatch.

Charles Soule’s Darth Vader run is really good. It follows Vader in the early days of the Empire. Kieran Gillen’s Vader and Star Wars main series runs are also great and Aphra is the poster child for fun characters that currently only live in the comics.

Halfway through Bad Batch season 2.

Soon I will need to make a decision in my chronological watch if want to bare rewatching Solo and Obi-Wan or just go straight to rewatching Andor season 1 before doing Rebels.

Those give some background to the Crimson Dawn and Inquisitors stuff I will see later in Rebels so I am leaning to yes.

  20. I’d skip obi wan or at least find the cut someone put together to make it better

It would be fun if they brought in Wanda Sykes to play live action older Phee the treasure hunter in Skeleton Crew.

yes to Solo for sure. i'd probably say yes to Obi-Wan, but mainly just for that context for the Inquisitors.
