No Sufjan Stevens or Fiona Apple on this list at all is certainly a choice.

Have a feeling Fiona is going to pop up in the top 10. Sufjan, maybe not.

There's just so clearly a "which stans will murder us if we don't include one" approach. Rihanna is a big star and has made great singles. None of her albums are among the 100 greatest ever made. But they had to pick her best one and include it anyway.

Yeah, that's one of the annoying things about modern music discourse. We can't just let great singles artists be great singles artists. I don't think it's a slight against Rihanna, one of the greatest singles artists of the century, to say that none of her albums should even be in contention for a list like this. But then there are plenty of people who would take it as such.

Speculation seems to be that the rose is Back to Black, which, if I'm right about Blonde, would mean at least four of the top 10 are less than 20 years old.

If we were still in more of a physical media era, she'd have a a Greatest Hits that would go diamond. Nothing wrong with that.

Locking this in as my prediction. No particular order.

    Purple Rain
    Abbey Road
    Good Kid
    Lemonade
    Blonde
    Miseducation
    Back to Black
    Thriller
    Nevermind
Songs in the Key of Life

Abbey Road is so clearly the best Beatles album to me. But it seems that every 5 years people decide on a new "best" one. Set Pepper had a long run, then Revolver. But the correct answer is Abbey Road.

The wild thing about the original 2003 Rolling Stone list is that there were four Beatles albums in the top 10 (Sgt. Pepper at 1, Revolver at 3, Rubber Soul at 5, The White Album at 10) and Abbey Road was back at 14.

Probably one of the worst top 10 album listings I've ever seen, but it's from apple music so I wasn't expected much either.

    edit: apple music

My bad. I immediately thought it was rolling stone because of the thread name, but yes my opinion still stands on the list.
