Sent this to my fiance, an absolute fiend for parm. Her reply:

 

Get that powdered "parm" outta my face. Real parm or bust.

 

Yeah I mean I LOVE a good chicken parm, whether it's a sub or on pasta. But powdered parm is so gross haha

 

I just pictured this pizza place manager doing a whole Bruce Wayne in the Batcave ass investigation to solve the mystery of who took the parmesan.

 

Powdered parm and red pepper flakes on pizza is heaven.

Also you guys do know powdered parm melts and becomes a cheesy consistency again when you mix into a hot pasta on the burner or put onto something in the oven right? I throw it into my Mac & Cheese and put it on my baked Perogies too .

 

Powdered "parm" has an anti caking agent in it that makes it unpleasant to cook with. Much better to grate it from the block and keep it in a container in the fridge. You can even blend it if it takes too long to grate.

 

This guy gets it.

I'm talkin that shit in the plastic shaker container. You can get good, finely grated parm without the caking agent.

 

For the sub debate: Ya'll Northern folks outside the southeast be missing out on that real good shit. Publix sources from Boar's Head for their deli meat. For Floridians it's not even a debate of what the best sub is. Pub subs are like our unofficial state dish at this point (specifically the chicken tender one)

 

And for any "it's a grocery store deli, not a sub chain!" takes. You have no idea. People go to Publix just for the sole purpose to get a sandwich constantly. It is a sub chain with a grocery store attached to it, and there is one basically within a few mile radius everywhere in FL.

 

My $6 Sprouts sandwiches are Boar's Head. So ha.

 

Powdered Parm is great, y'all are too fancy. I put that shit on popcorn, in quesidillas and grilled cheeses, perogies, pastas, mix it in with chicken breading...

 

Powdered parm on grilled cheese is fantastic. I put some inside with the other cheese and throw a little on top of the bread too to get some Parm encrusted action going on.

Big Bill's NY Pizza is a my favorite pizza spot. Not in Denver but a family friend owns it and he used to be assistant coach back in like the 70's or something and knows every sports-related person in the state

There used to be a place across the street from my house when I was a kid called "Hoagies and Yogies" that served subs and frozen yogurt. That was when I discovered that subs were sometimes called hoagies
