Just waiting for my new iPad to get here so I can dig into that sweet, sweet DWJ Transformers trade.

…and maybe read Do A Powerbomb! again after…

The DSTLRY books have been really solid. I love the talent and the format.

Just finished White Boat #1. Snyder and Francavilla just have a great synergy. Very excited to read more.

The Hickman/Checchetto USM is great in the way that it riffs on familiar Spider-Man concepts in a generative way. Love the curiosity it spurs in me. Also, aspects of it feel queer coded to me.

Momoko’s UXM is great in the way that she has no attachment to X-Men concepts at all and is just allowed to do more or less whatever she wants. It’s just fully its own wonderful thing. We are so blessed to have her doing real interior comic art; her cartooning is so lively.

Haven’t read the rest, but Deniz Camp is a super cool writer, so I’m glad he’s in the mix.

I just wish they didn't name it Ultimate Spider-Man. As if that title didn't get confusing enough between Ultimate Spider-Man turning into Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, then back, then being Miles' story instead of Peter, etc. Makes it so hard to recommend the original Ultimate comics to people without confusing them lol

  10. That reminds me of the title of Spider Gwen always changing

  11. also getting floppies for The Outsiders, been eyeing that for a while. my shop had all except #6

A glass can only spill what it contains

Chip Zdarsky anonymously got Rob Liefeld to make a Cameo for Jonathan Hickman when he left X-Men, everyone should have a friend like this.

It rules, just unhinged fun, and yeah, accessible imo if you haven't read past Hack/Slash books.

Zoe Thorogood’s approach to storytelling and illustration speaks to me so much. Just brilliant work.

  20. Target is doing their buy two get one free deal again. Anyway, I noticed they have DC Compact Comics now. All Star Superman for ten bucks is tempting but... just how compact we talkin here? I saw an article that said 5.5"x8.5", isn't that even smaller than DC's YA graphic novels?

When I first saw them announced, I was skeptical. But, they’re actually pretty nice.

Watchmen in particular was one I thought would be harder to read at a smaller trim size, with the dense 9-panel grids, but irl it read quite nicely; wasn’t hard on my eyes at all.

I used the holiday to do some comic book reading. Primarily DC. I read about 10 issues or so of Ram V's Detective Comics run, the first arc of Tom Taylor's Nightwing, and the first arc of Jeremy Adams' Green Lantern.

Hopefully I can keep up this reading going forward.

  23. really interested in that Bats run, Laila Starr was so good

I went to my B&N and checked out the one for All Star Superman and the text was really small. I think I'll get the regular size tpb instead, eventually...

Recently read The Marble Queen, which was :rainbow: and very much YA, and Sunstone: Mercy vol. 8 (and re-read vols. 6-7), which was also :rainbow: but very much... not YA

Also following current runs of Birds of Prey and The Outsiders

some stuff I'm thinking of (pre-)ordering
