I liked but didn't love my first listen; it definitely wasn't as exciting to me as Happier Than Ever, which could have been a masterpiece if it were just a few tracks shorter, but this still seemed really solid and I'm excited to spend more time with it!

I’ve really enjoyed her first two records and can’t wait to dig into this one. Does it have that slightly dark undertone the last two did?

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

I don't know. It goes down easy, but it's all starting to sound the same. I can see why she opted not to release any singles as none of these tracks grabbed me right off the bat like some of her tried-and-true hits did.

Can’t imagine thinking “birds of a feather” isn’t an instant hit. So good.

Yeah, this is very good. Good on both Billie and Finneas on continuing to evolve their sound. Love the beat switch-ups in this.

Good song, just doesn't scream chart-topping song of summer to me. Even "The Greatest," while good, feels like a composite of multiple past songs.

Yeah, definitely no huge singles on this, which is fine

I like it overall. The transition into the last couple minutes of l'amour was an initial highlight. Birds of a Feather and the Greatest are really good songs. The final two tracks are probably the best. I'm looking forward to listening more and seeing how my feelings develop.

I can definitely see Lunch going viral on tiktok and becoming a hit. This is great so far.

Judging by some of the early comments out there, any chance this becomes her "Solar Power"-era record (which I loved, btw)?

Love the record on first listen, but I will say that the beat switch ups def become a gimmick after the 3rd or 4th time.

Also, she’s going to remain a headphones artist for me. Theres a lot going on in these songs and the vocals aren’t necessarily out front on these tracks. Really hope the fan base has aged up a bit so they don’t scream-sing over Billie at the live shows anymore.

This is far more interesting than Solar Power.

  23. Feel like "Lunch" could be pretty big this summer

Yep, was just thinking about how thankful I am to have more concise and focused pop albums like this and GUTS as opposed to Cowboy Carter and TTPD, which are obviously good in their own ways but...sometimes I don't feel like listening to some grand statement project

  24. This is very, very good. Her most concise project that feels less like an "era" or intentional style switch-up and more like an actual representation of the person behind the record, which is awesome. The production is great as always and the synth stuff in particular is just crazy good. More Winehouse vibes like I got on HTE. My only complaint is that "WILDFLOWER" and "THE GREATEST" back to back kind of drags the midsection down for me. Basically love everything else here, though. Chorus of "CHIHIRO" goes crazy

Yeah I continue to believe long albums are great when earned (which I continue to believe Beyoncé did and Taylor Swift didn’t, lol), but even so… it should be the exception. Love me a more focused collection of songs.
