I do feel better though, 1989 is certified nine times platinum, so effectively with the TV, it is diamond.

She wants to build her legacy and get all the records. I guess at the end of the day it doesn't matter but it's weird when a song is like inorganically #1. I guess you could argue none of it is "organic." I enjoy the song willow, but it's weird it hit #1 because it doesn't rly have cultural impact like her others

The fact that she/her team clearly are doing this to block Billie from getting #1 is sad. Let other musicians/albums shine for a bit.

and yes, I know placement on the charts does not mean people will pay less attention to other artists like Billie, but Taylor doesn’t need to be doing this. Taylor has had so much attention on her the past few years, specifically last year and this year, she has a much talked about new album, this just all seems unnecessary. Whether she’s #1 or not won’t change how popular this album is or how popular she is.

 

To be fair, I think it's a little "fake drama" to say it's specifically because of Billie, we know from history that she would do this for ANY artist or album that dares to end a streak of hers

 

Oh I should clarify that I mean the fact that she is doing this for any artist but Billie is just the one it’s happening to. It would be sad no matter who the artist is (unless it’s like Morgan Wallen or Drake then have at it lol)
