Yeah my car insurance policy went up for no reason a month ago. Got into a fender bender after those policy docs but rates haven't gone up even more yet...

Tbh the entire insurance industry is really struggling now. Lots of layoffs in many companies due to things like increased natural disaster and whatnot

 

my 10 year reunion will be this year the last time i spoke to anyone from high school was when one of them somehow recognized me during Phish at MSG this summer and then before that it was when somebody asked me where i got my weed like 5 years ago before it was legal. might go and get extremely fucked up

 

I was class president, so i was supposed to organize my 10 year reunion. But then COVID hit and i live in a whole other city and don’t talk to any of those people really anymore so im not sure whatever happened with any of that. Wasn’t really planning on going anyways. One woman i graduated with called me at one point to ask what i was planning to do pre-COVID and i think she seemed eager enough that she probably just did it on her own lol

 

Yeah I had no interest in going to mine. When you have a class of 1000 students, you're not gonna really know most of the people you'd bump into there

Went to my fiance's though. Same school but she was a senior when I was a freshman. They got us in the dumpiest basement bar I'd ever seen that only sold well drinks and they were the worst well drinks I've ever had lol so that also turned me off to going to mine

 

My graduating class was more than 800 people. I have NO IDEA who most of the people I graduated with are. Within the past 20 years, I cannot tell you how many times someone would come up to me and tell me we went to high school together and I have zero clue who they are.

Most of my best friends moved away shortly after college and now live all over the country. I still live near my hometown (and honestly - never felt the urge to move away) but only have a small handful of really good friends I still talk to from high school.

Never went to a reunion and never will. I actually went out for the first time in a long time on Saturday night for a surprise 40th birthday party and holy hell, I ran into so many people I haven't seen or talked to in 15-20 years and it was brutal and agonizing the small talk I had to go through.

 

Assholes. The real reason they're doing this is so that they can charge protesters with crimes.

I still wear masks in public because of chronic health problems, but I guess fuck me right?

 

So the protestors need to make an official secret society which would put it in compliance with the law

I was very surprised around the time I was 28 when I learned that high school reunions are mostly at bars and restaurants, and not held in your old high school's gym like the movies.

They tried to do mine at a local BBQ place. Similarly to most of your guy's stories, it fell through because of poor planning and low enthusiasm.

 

Right! But I guess to actually do it at your HS you'd have to do a LOT more work lol. Setting up decorations and pictures, actually getting the food and drinks and entertainment, etc.

 

Like Bocchi, I wouldn't want to go to a reunion because I wouldn't want to be around anyone that knew me.

 

I thought all high school reunions were like this

I always assumed a reunion was when Oscar Isaac showed up to sing his big hit song professing his love to his high school crush who is also there and they fall in love

 

My 20-year HS reunion was 2020 so some of us did a virtual happy hour that summer and it was surprisingly really fun to catch up with some of them. It was interesting being elder millennials who all adopted social media early on and only a few years after high school so we had some connection to each other. Plus a lot of us also went to elementary school together so we had spent a lot of time together.
