I assume when she releases her 13th album, there will be a massive $400 13-album box set with everything on it.

 

3am as a Record Store Day exclusive seems like such an easy home run. Look how much buzz there was for the Long Pond release. This, I have to imagine she’ll just do a deluxe vinyl with all 31 songs. Which is annoying!

 

She is not one to leave money on the table, so I’m sure all this stuff will be on vinyl eventually.

 

I understand that there are reasons (sales, numbers, etc.) for releasing it the way she did, it's just that the way it was handled felt deceptive and tricky this time in a way that, say, just announcing everything up front and having people choose how much / which version they want to purchase would not, to me at least. And I understand her numbers & sales would take a hit, but also this is Taylor Swift so all figures are going to be astronomical anyways and it's just a question of how many world records will be broken, which just feels a little weird, and shouldn't feel like the focus to listeners even though it probably is to her.

And I am someone who loves her music, is crazy about getting ahold of b-sides / bonus tracks when it comes to any artist, and thinks the second disc might actually be the superior album here, so this whole thing should kinda be right up my alley.

None of that stuff is very important though, and ultimately I feel like the second disc / songs 17-31 got short shrift with this release strategy and are not getting the appreciation that they deserve.

My hot take today is that The Alchemy reminds me of London Boy but replacing British references with football

Absolutely, it's a better song for sure. I can't help but laugh/roll my eyes a little with the references and her emphasis on them, like a huge wink at the audience.

I won’t lie though, “Where’s the trophy? He just comes runnin’ over to me” gets stuck in my head daily.

 

It's super catchy, I've often had "on the winning TEAM" such in my head too

 

There’s a rumor that more U.S. tour dates will be announced for summer 2025. It would make sense with the new album but also be insane with how long this tour will be.

 

I’ll believe it when I see it, but at the same time wouldn’t be surprised if this happens.
