Finch will definitely be doing a headlining tour once the new record is announced but they probably won’t be trying to channel WIITB with the new music which I’m personally thankful for. They tried with Back To Oblivion and the results were pretty mixed IMO.

I’m LOVING these two new tracks and they just sound like a more accessible SHTS to me. Horror Island has big Deftones vibes and Rainy Day has some WIITB vibes in the way Nate is singing the chorus too.

Oh and big time agree: Nate’s screaming has somehow gotten even better. I was stunned hearing him scream during New Beginnings.

i saw them in 2014 a year after their 10 year annv tour for WIITB and NO ONE was there, it was sad, cool set but they were headlining with no name bands to open and yah i felt bad, i got to meet nate, papas, & r2k after the show , they were walking around the venue looking so disillusioned

the highlight was hearing a lot off oblivion at the time! Finch Concert Setlist at Bottom Lounge, Chicago on October 14, 2014 | setlist.fm

I saw them in 2008 in Orlando and they headlined w/ scary kids scaring kids as support and over 1/3 of the crowd left after scary kids finished their set. I was bewildered but also happy that I could easily walk up to the front of the pit

I wonder when they'll officially release their new songs as singles.

  9. At the show lastnight, a fight started right behind me, like against my back, and I just thought we were moshing until security came over and started asking questions about what happened hahaha.

Turns out it was the classic scenario where a drunk dude forcefully shoves his way up to the front and pissed everyone off in his path.

One thing I love about these older bands touring again is everyone’s too old to want to really mosh or crowd surf. I was in the very front and still had some space to move around and have fun. Didn’t even break a sweat or get other peoples sweat all over me. It was so nice. AAAAND I left while it was still light outside! (Skipped Bayside)

"a more accessible SHTS to me" - that sounds like literally heaven tbh and I think that's what I meant at least by a merger of WIITB and SHTS. Something like a slowed down Underoath sound.

It's crazy how this genre was huge, completely disappeared, then came back.

Not studio versions. But there are live videos. Here is one of them from the first night of the tour.

Going from their new opener to Letters to You was HILARIOUS. It was like going from Deftones to Kidz Bop… and I LOVED IT.

An AMAZING live recording during what I believe to be their best era. This was when they were still finishing up SHTS but playing a lot of new stuff on tour and if you play at the 53 minute mark - you’ll hear the original version of Brother Bleed Brother which is incredible as well as an alternative version of A Man Alone. There’s also a really good live version of Ender on here for all the WIITB folks.

I’m just real pumped after hearing this - I’ll have to rip it and save it to my library.

I am still thinking about their live set I just witnessed a few months ago. From the quiet, pretty intro to the incredible new songs to the old favorites... they simply still have "it". I hope they can ride this wave into a new release and go from there.

  25. Country artist Russell Dickerson interpolated Letters To You on his new EP. It’s just the chorus, but kinda wild still
