I totaled two cars in high school but no accidents since then so I think I've become a better driver lol

I bought my most recent car off my grandparents a couple years ago, and I was so excited that I started backing out of their garage and didn't notice I left the driver's door wide open.

It was fun spending over $1600 to replace the door entirely

  9. I buddy bumped my brother's truck once because I didn't realize he was parked at an angle and dented his door.

I haven't really driven (aside from short distances with folks I'm comfortable with) since I was T-boned in 2019. It's been really hard overcoming the trauma of that experience in therapy.

I haven't driven since I started wfh during the pandemic and got rid of my car.

Also I started to realize after I renewed my driver's license and almost failed the vision test with my glasses on ( I wasn't able to see half the symbols until I closed one of my eyes, my depth perception is fucked because of lifelong Exotropia ) that it's probably not safe for me to drive. Makes sense why I have gotten very close to rear ending someone many times because I have to turn my entire head to look to merge into the right lane.

Not driving during the pandemic has certainly given me a fear about driving long distances on the highway, esp at night. And yet I used to drive 3.5 hrs to visit my cousin in New Haven CT, or 5 hrs to Canada no sweat. I refuse to drive in Boston now even though it didn't really phase me before.

My mom is the same way. Got hit by a truck when she was a child and almost died, has had lifelong anxiety about driving her entire life. Never had a license. Rides a bike to work.

I remember one time we went go Go Karting as a kid, and it triggered a full on anxiety attack and she started crying and breaking down while we were waiting in line, and we had to leave. I feel bad now for how embarrassed I was by that as a kid.

Work has got me accustomed to driving while stressed and distracted so I feel like I've become a better city driver but a worse driver overall. I was in a fatal car crash as a kid that gave me a lot of driving anxiety so I was a lil later than most getting my license.

Honestly we'd all be happy if our society was less car focused it gives everyone brain worms

  16. I did really enjoy the feeling of being able to drive. I wish I wasn't so afraid to be on the road with other cars. I would take backroads everywhere if I could.

It still irritates the shit out of me that I was 100% faithful in all of my past relationships and yet in the last one I was ever in, I was constantly accused of cheating and something that was said to me numerous times was "you probably have like 5 other girls lined up ahead of me that you're just going to fall back on". I didn't, and I still don't. I literally have not been in a single relationship since. Meanwhile, she literally had 2 other dudes lined up ahead of me that she ended up having 2 kids with. Like, if she wants to go have kids with someone, then by all means, do so. It's the projection that really fucking gets to me.

Every year my aunt and uncle go on vacation and every year I get stuck dog sitting for them. At first I basically volunteered bc apparently I was the only one who thought it was bullshit they were making my grandma do it. She was not in good enough health to be watching a huge dog. Now my grandma is on oxygen 24/7 so they didn’t ask her obviously and I thought I’d be getting out of it this year but nooo. They are now using my grandma’s poor health to guilt me into doing it bc someone needs to be available if she needs something and their house is right up the road. Normally I wouldn’t mind dog sitting bc I love dogs more than basically anything else in this world but I just honestly do not like their dog. He is big and hard for me to handle when he needs to go out. He is extremely hyper and he is the most annoying dog I’ve ever met. I have to try and work (I work from home) while watching the dog. But if you are not physically touching him at all times he will howl nonstop. If you go in another room to be away from him he will howl and paw at the door nonstop. My job requires me to be able to hear and type at all times so this makes for an absolutely miserable day for me. And to top it all off they never leave any food for me to eat. Like I can’t imagine asking someone to house sit and leaving them with an empty fridge. They make it a point to eat everything so it “doesn’t go bad” but they’re gone for a week!! It’s not gonna go bad that fast and I shouldn’t have to go grocery shopping just to stay at your house and do you a (free) favor!! I’m already annoyed by it and they don’t even leave until the end of the month!

  24. Not sure who has seen my posts in the mental health thread, but after TWO separate dog attacks on my parents by the same neighbor's saint bernard (both of which required ER visits, one of which required surgery), the dog has somehow been RETURNED TO THE OWNER. I'm furious. One of their other dogs was loose again today. My parents are afraid to go into their own yard and my dad feels he has to carry a handgun with him when he goes outside. We are setting up a camera for their house tomorrow. I am beside myself with anger. This guy is on the school board and probably has some connections (the cops told us they were working with animal control, but when we called them, they weren't aware of either incidents). Going to talk to the attorney about the best way to go public because the only thing he seems to care about is his reputation.

Over the last year or so I’ve gathered up around 600-700 in cash from coworkers paying me back for lunch when we order lunch the one day we’re all in the office each week (some use Apple Cash, most give cash for some reason) and I counted it and sorted it about two months ago and I cannot for the life of me remember where I put it lol.

I know I didn’t deposit it with my bank so it’s gotta be in my apartment somewhere but I’m starting to worry I may have outsmarted myself and put it in something unusual that I may have ended up throwing away or something stupid like that.
