I don't disagree that the Devils need someone with more discipline than Ruff had, but to go that far in the other direction IMO is a mistake. They need a structured system more than they need a straight disciplinarian

it kind of sucks that the NHL only has like 40 guys that get considered for coaching jobs.

 

Right, and it’s noted that he and Kyrou had a noted disagreement on how to play which I feel he’s more in line with the Hughes of the devils. The 2019 team was the perfect blend of grit size/skill to fit his style.

 

So glad Vegas is out.

My couch coach take is that Jarvis should be moved to the 1st line, Kochetkov should have gotten a start by now, and since we're gonna scratch Kuznetsov, Lemieux would have been a better option than Comtois, but let's see how this game goes.
