Like even way back in the day ps1 games were coming out into the ps2’s life cycle without a ps2 port for them

 

I think it was much harder to pull off crossgen games back in the day because leaps between each generation were far more significant. Like put a PSX game next to a PS2 game and it's just a completely different ballgame. Jak or Ratchet vs. Crash's polygon ass.

Nice! The main factor for me was I’m now working an adult job and can afford to buy random shit if I want to lol.

 

One example is Spider-Man 3 getting a ps2 and ps3 port but the ps2 port is known for being a broken mess. I think King Kong also had an Xbox port and an Xbox 360. weird the only two examples I can think of are licensed games

 

Spider-Man 3 kind of proves my point as they changed quite a lot to the game to make the older gen version. You didn't get a 1:1 port like you do now. Generally a game that came out for multiple generations had to make significant caveats to make it happen.

 

I think most ports on the older gen are a bit of a demake but it’s usually not as noticeable as Spider-Man 3 was. Like dragon age inquisition’s ps3 port is fine but clearly inferior to the ps4 version

 

I like to split my gaming focus into one main title per platform. If I try and play like three games at a time on the same platform I’m way less likely to actually see any of them to completion. Right now I’ve got AC odyssey on my ps5, three houses on my switch, gta 4 on my deck and sadly been neglecting my PC lately but I’ve made good progress on those three main games by limiting myself in that way

i haven't played too much but the gameplay/combat feels a lil loose but it's an indie game so i won't expect it to have FromSoft levels of polish
