I don’t want to say something as myopic as hip-hop needed this but I have to admit the genre was kind of stagnating for a bit. it feels very exciting again tho to me with this beef. Drake is actually rapping his ass off, and so is everyone else involved.

 

First Person Shooter should probably be the first one.

 

Lots of fair things to criticize Kendrick over but its hard to see how any of them are invalidating accusations like "you are comparable to Harvey Weinstein" and "it is unsafe for children to be around you"

 

Its crazy that the biggest beef in hip hop today is about whos the better dad and husband

 

So there’s some evidence Drake fed phony information to Kendrick re: the alleged daughter? What is going on

 

I feel like this is far from over

 

I was thinking the best way to find the leak is to give fake info to each person and see what shows up in the next diss.

Very weird that people are having stronger reactions to "Drake might have a secret daughter" than "Drake knowingly keeps sexual predators in his entourage"

 

It’s bad no doubt, just rings a little hollow as a diss considering Kendrick’s past affinity for sex offenders

 

I am just thinking back to the 2000's when post-Pac/Biggie major rap beefs had this air of "if this escalates people are going to literally get murdered" moralizing around them. That doesn't really seem to be a worry anymore lol

I mean they brought in fucking Farrakhan to help squash the 50/Ja Rule beef that in retrospect was a lot less personal and heated than his one

Doesn’t invalidate anything just think it’s important context and both of these guys are coming out of this thing looking bad

 

None of those feel accurate to me based on Kendrick’s own words and actions but that’s fine if you see it differently

 

this is why I think drakes just straight up lying about everything

 

Oh it was very personal, based on what we can tell a lot more dangerous than this, just maybe less personal in the songs (it’s all a blur at this point)

 

Seeing some spin in the comments that are like " oh well just throwing around money and leaving isn't planting money trees, he should have opened a Subway franchise or something to generate continuous community wealth " lol

 

as fun as this has been I suspect the long term effects of "beef" now meaning "investigative reporting and/or attempted bribery set to music to get the internet fired up" is not promising....but hey it beats bullets
