    The spiciest meme

I thought about that too, like Kendrick is calling Drake a danger to women and to stay away but why not say that before now if so right? Shades of shadiness from both sides which isn't surprising

I thought Kendrick would call out Drake’s disses at Megan and support for Tory Lanez. But it’s a pot and kettle situation considering his alliance with Kodak.

Adin Ross is a popular streamer who is friends with, idolizes, and sucks up to infamous human trafficker and proud misogynist Andrew Tate

Kick is an alternative streaming platform to Twitch that embraced and signed deals with every big reactionary creep streamer. If you choose Kick as your preferred live streamer as a content creator you probably got something bad going on about you.

It can’t be overstated how horrible Kick is. Streamers literally stream themselves committing crimes and don’t get banned. Most recently, people filmed themselves drinking while driving and getting in a hit-and-run and laughing about it.

Didn't a kick streamer also just get sentenced to prison in Dubai for illegally filming people in public?

Hey so I’m just gonna follow this up bc in the year since this absolute bullshit went down, the band and their fanbase have leaned harder and harder into the whole “no moshing” meme, and now just the other night their singer sent a woman to the hospital with severe spinal cord injuries after jumping on her. Trophy Eyes donated $5,000 to her $100k kickstarter, tried to minimize their involvement, and turned off their comments. Y’all that laughed about their response of “fuck you” to a safety concern at their shows while encouraging their fans to dogpile a year ago can feel free to donate to this poor girl’s extensive medical bills here

    this is all there is

I read about this last week and it's so disturbing. I have never listened to the band and have no opinion of their music or fanbase, but I do feel like their response has been inadequate, and I hope the frontman especially is planning to do a hell of a lot more to support this victim of his reckless behavior. The GoFundMe isn't even posted on their own instagram.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

I'll reiterate my thoughts about this the last time Trophy Eyes came up -

    1) Using this as a boogeyman to say stop all stage diving/moshing/crowd surfing/hardcore dancing is not the right take here. The band seems like they're edgelords with regards to the whole moshing thing, but good luck enforcing that kind of ethos at a hardcore show whether it's local bands playing a dive or a fest like Sound and Fury or LDB. That shit's part and parcel in hardcore nowadays so it might be a fallacy to apply it to a pop punk show, but I digress.

    2) This was an accident caused by a big dude who probably should've warned people he was going to be diving...especially if it's at a venue that supposedly had a no stage diving policy for liability reasons. The band could probably also take a lesson from a band like Drug Church...if you're going to encourage stage diving, at least encourage people to catch people and be safe about it.

The amount of people commenting on Trophy Eyes’ posts saying “she shouldn’t have gone to the show if she couldn’t handle a hardcore crowd” was fucking disgusting

  23. Your second point speaks plainly to why your first has never been a relevant part of this discussion though. Nobody is trying to take away moshing. The entire problem, where all of the criticism was coming from, was how TE handled someone not feeling safe at their shows. Granted the person in question was being needlessly aggressive about it, the band had a responsibility to do anything except for what they did, which was embolden their fans to be worse. Since then it’s been a snowballing meme of “if you don’t feel safe, stay home” which is a horrible precedent to set and exactly how people get seriously injured. It’s only fitting that the singer of the band is the one who wound up leading by example in that regard and now some girl’s life is probably never really going to be the same

I live 2 blocks from Mohawk Place, the venue absolutely has large signs all over saying no moshing or stage diving. This is now the SECOND time in 13yrs that someone has suffered a spinal cord injury at that venue from crowd surfing/stage diving.

The venue actually gives security the ability to cut power to the stage if the artist/crowd begins stage diving and such.

It really sucks because it looks like the promoter is absolutely going to get sued over this and they’re the best promoters for indie/punk/hardcore shows in Buffalo.

I don't know shit about how this actually works, and maybe something like this is in the process of happening, but I'm surprised the victim/family did not press charges against the frontman - is there some kind of legality here that protects him? If that was my friend/relative, I'd definitely want him to be held accountable for his negligent actions that ruined her life.
