I should have said by smoking, I meant cigarettes. I don’t know if I’ve seen much vaping in movies. In “Love Lies Bleeding” and “Challengers” cigarettes are basically a member of the supporting cast.

 

I think they show Channing Tatum vaping several times in the trailer for Blink Twice.

 

They just need to replace smoking with something even cooler and harder

Just injecting something straight into their eyeballs or something

 

This man has done more to make cigs look cool as hell than anyone in 25 years

 

"being a smoker" is incredibly not cool. "smoking a cigarette" looks insanely cool.

When I tell younger people that there was smoking in restaurants when I was a kid they are shocked. There was literally nothing dividing the smoking and non-smoking "sections".

 

Also the entire Die Hard franchise is now on Hulu as of today

Also MAX just added a bunch of A24 stuff they previously didn't have. Killing of a Sacred Deer, Florida Project, The Lighthouse.

 

Smoking is still allowed in bars in Florida, right? Even that seems crazy to me.

 

Floridian here: you'll run into the rare random dive bar occasionally that still has indoor smoking, but that vast majority don't anymore. We were pretty late though. Smoking in bars here was the norm up until maybe 10 years ago.

 

I kind of wish smoking was still allowed in bowling alleys. I dunno if it was watching my parents bowl as a kid or The Big Lebowski, but I always associate bowling with cigs and liquor, doesn't feel the same without it lol

 

For bars it depends on how much food they serve. I believe the rule is that they can't make more than ten percent of their revenue from food.

 

Yeah I believe that’s how it is in PA too. Still a few smoking bars around.

 

Last time I was out in downtown St Pete we found a smoking dive bar and I couldn't believe it. I was in full drunk chain smoking mode and was tired of sitting outside at that point so I was so happy lol

 

Bar culture in Florida really has changed though. Used to be pretty common to see "take your colors/rockers off before entering" signs at dives 10-15 years ago because so many 1%er bikers would show up and get in fights. That doesn't really happen anymore.

 

Being able to smoke on planes is the one that gets me. Just a long tube of farts and tobacco

 

i say this as someone who has maybe smoked five cigarettes ever but as bad as they smell they aren’t half as bad as some people’s every day BO and we don’t ban them on planes

 

As someone who was raised around smokers, has been a heavy smoker long time, and spent plenty of time in smoking areas at workplaces and bars I will say this: Cigarettes smell gross to non-smokers, but after you start smoking and then stop, cigarettes smell legit incredible. Like they don't suddenly start smelling gross after you stop. You will love that smell for the rest of your life.

 

I have this scent memory of cigarettes at Burger King back in the 90s when my family would go that I can never forget and will likely never smell again.

 

I mean, I’m certainly all for that as well

 

Also down to ban people who put their bare feet on the arm rest in front of them

im sure at some point but as I said I do not have enough awareness of cigarettes to identify them individually by brand haha
