When was the last time a Japanese legend that was not signed to AEW won a one on one match? They keep bringing guys like Suzuki, Ishii and Akiyama but they never actually win.

At least Shibata wins here and there, probably because he is actually signed.

Doing FTW matches will keep him relevant for a few months. He cant go 1-on-1 singles anymore, but, working ECW style matches where people get to brain him with trash cans is fun
