With John Stamos doing a show with The Beach Boys what do we think the odds of that actually happening are? I think it would be hilarious.

At least there's a sick Punk in Drublic 2-day minifest in Brockton a month before RF, but yeah Boston Calling lineups are always supremely disappointing when you consider the price tag. That said, I feel like I'm missing out on some clam chowder fests...sounds like a great time to me lmao

Is it just me or has RF given up on the Stamos jokes? I don't remember any Stamos references at the fest since either butter Stamos v2 or the Stamos art gallery (can't remember if those were the same year or what), which I think were like 2017ish?

Butter Stamos v2 was 2019. But they did the Riot Fest sucks video where John said he would never play Riot Fest and he hates it. It had an advert type of feel. That was like 2 years ago, I think.

I mean, the other argument to be made is that we get plenty of shows and have some pretty decent venues to boot. I'm just always jealous of areas that get to watch music outdoors every now and again in a non-ampitheater setting. Haha.

Once NOFX calls it a day I'm not fully expecting anything else will come along. Except for, y'know, more clam chowder.

I'd say pretty likely. They look to be doing a few different festivals, I don't think they have any studio time coming up, and they have a pretty intensive history with the fest.

Also wouldn't be shocked if Puzzled Panther was on it as well. Eugene is in that band (albeit mostly as an auxiliary member) and is really pushing them.

The Aces and The Beaches would be a fun combo. I'm here for it.

Well here's my final prediction/wishlist. Probably off by a lot, but this hypothetical lineup kicks ass and has something for everyone.

The Slayer stage is also a homage to the first Ozzfest.

People should now be treating The Aces as locks like they are St. Vincent in their mocks IMHO.

Also Japanese Breakfast are not playing any shows this year. Michelle is in Japan writing her second book, but I would love for them to play one of these years. They would be way higher though. On the last tour they sold out Thalia Hall 4 times, came back to subheadline at Pitchfork, then played 2 sold out shows at The Salt Shed indoors which is 7,200 (3,600 x 2) capacity. They would probably be second or third on their day. (especially if Turnstile can get second billing)

Talking Heads hate each other, like Gallagher brothers level hate.. they can live doing q&a's for an hour but they turned down Coachella money

That said, I have no idea who else is headlining.. so go all out - the real lineup will be out soon enough

With Charly Bliss (finally!) announcing their new album and it coming out in August, I could see a fall tour happening with a Riot Fest stop.

You’re right The Aces are likely a lock but they can be part of my 2nd wave

And that’s a bummer about JB. I do have them playing on the same stage as Talking Heads right before. Any other circumstance they’d either sub or close. But they’d be a great add.

Yes, this is the pipe dream. I didn’t want to put Beck as a headliner, because I’d rather hear Talking Heads argue on stage than hear Beck mumble and murmur.

Do you guys think NOFX could headline if the main stages are stacked with punk bands?

I’m against the idea of RHCP or another metal band headlining.

They turned down an $80-million offer from LiveNation. There is no timeline where they ever play Riot.

I don't think NOFX is big enough to headline. They would definitely close out a stage but it would be Radical or Rise rather than the Riot stage.

I know it's a punk festival at heart, but I don't think NOFX are big enough to headline one of the days (a side stage, sure, but not the main stage). I feel like to be one of the three main headliners (number one Friday/Saturday/Sunday) you have to be playing, at minimum, arenas or close to it, have bonafide hits casual fans would know, or be a rare reunion, which NOFX is none of those.

Nofx didn't headline in 2016, but had a bigger crowd at Rise than Flaming Lips headliner set on the main stage

but they shouldn't be a headliner this year.
