i cant believe green day is not part of concert week, they really gonna make my ass pay 70 bucks for a lawn ticket, on a date that doesnt even have the smashing pumpkins

 

This is great for GA only shows... I can't bring myself to go to a stadium/arena/outdoor show and be way in the back

Dashboard Confessional at the Aragon for $25 is a sweet deal

yeah according to stereogum it’s with a female singer replacing Chester

 

My guess is Amy Lee or Courtney Laplante but who knows

 

and not all the original members were on board, so it’s only three members of the five remaining but they don’t say who didn’t want to participate.

 

Wtf. That’s barely Linkin Park then. Wack

 

it is what it is, Chester was irreplaceable, but on these DW fests Linkin Park gets top billing while “new band with three Linkin park members” gets a mid day slot.

 

Bonnie from Stand Atlantic did a version of Bleed it Out recently it's probably her

 

What's fascinating about this, to me, is that I'm sure people are going to kick/scream about how it's "not the real band" and blabber on about legacy or whatever. But that's awkward, because hey, remember that time Chester sang for Stone Temple Pilots?

Honestly, it's kinda cool to see this is in the cards. Especially if the rumors are true and it's actually with a female vocalist.

 

I was moreso referring to the 2 remembers that aren’t interested in doing it. Only three of the original members and then hired guns? Can they even call it Linkin Park at that point?

 

Yeah it’s obviously not the same but I’m cool with it. Not sure if I would pay for a ticket but I can’t be mad at them for wanting to tour.

 

You know tickets would sell out in a heartbeat regardless of who is involved

 

I doubt most fans can name anyone in the band that isn’t Mike Shinoda, Chester, or Mr. Hahn (and maybe “guy with the headphones”). They could easily swap out the drummer and bassist and most wouldn’t notice.

 

Bonnie from Stand Atlantic or Poppy would both kill it.

 

Bonnie addressed the rumors and said she only did a session with Mike Shinoda but she is not replacing Chester.

But that session was pretty good and she would do a great job at it

 

They should probably at least consider me considering how many times I’ve watched Live in Texas in my lifetime

 

Anyone know how I can find specific shows participating in Concert Week? I’m on Live Nation’s Concert Week website and I can’t find an option to search/filter bands and venues…

I think your local venues might list what shows before, but I think you just kinda find out when the sale goes live

 

Lzzy Hale or Taylor Momsen would also be cool

 

All of the '70s bands who had members leave or pass away were touring with some hired guns by the late '90s and early 2000s. Weird to think we're about the same amount of time removed from the '90/2000s now, but it makes sense that we'd start to see versions of those bands that feel "wrong" to us. Been thinking about that a bit with Anberlin too.
