Just listened to the new album from relatively new rap-metal band FiveByFive, and it is everything I miss about the nu-metal era.

Besides having just plain crunchy riffs and melodies like Mom used to make, it features the following:

    1. The album is called Phuck Around Phind Out and keeps that level of middle-class white-boy bravado throughout.

    2. It has multiple interludes that are absolutely dumb and pointless, one of which calls for a moment of silence for Betty White.

    3. It has not one, but two cover songs: Flobots' Handlebars and Gorillaz' Clint Eastwood, done in a straightforward nu-metal style that is just absurd. I love the audacity of the latter. It even closes the album, because sure, why not.

saw POD with Fire From the Gods and Powerflo a few years back and got to smoke weed with Sen Dog from Cypress Hill/Powerflo. Really fun time.

A newer nu-metal band that I've really been digging. Here's some stuff from their last album.
