Just listened to the new album from relatively new rap-metal band FiveByFive, and it is everything I miss about the nu-metal era.

Besides having just plain crunchy riffs and melodies like Mom used to make, it features the following:

1. The album is called Phuck Around Phind Out and keeps that level of middle-class white-boy bravado throughout.

2. It has multiple interludes that are absolutely dumb and pointless, one of which calls for a moment of silence for Betty White.

3. It has not one, but two cover songs: Flobots' Handlebars and Gorillaz' Clint Eastwood, done in a straightforward nu-metal style that is just absurd. I love the audacity of the latter. It even closes the album, because sure, why not.

Tim is going to be the vocalist, which honestly they should've done from the start and avoided all this rigamarole.

 

Tim should not be a vocalist. Listen to the remakes here, it's almost as bad as Flaw's cover album.
