Drain in Denver!!! More than makes up for having to muscle through PTV.

Man I really thought it was only up from here in terms of openers when they went with Turnstile LOL

  8. Astronoid opening for Blink is wild, good for them. The shows aren’t coming anywhere near me but I’d love to be a fly on the wall to see the crowds during their set lol

They're a great modern pop-rock band from the UK and they put on a killer live show. Definitely worth getting there early to check them out if that's your thing.

RIYL for Astronoid? They're on my date

  13. They’re like… melodic black metal with some post/space rock influences. Think Deafheaven but in a major key and with less screaming and blastbeats lol. Their most recent tours have been with bands like like Holy Fawn, Coheed, and TesseracT, if that gives you any idea! Their self titled is worth a listen if you’re trying to sample them at all

On another note - this works way better than it should:

Well that's absolutely not what I was expecting haha. Wonder why they decided to go with heavy openers this time

Simple Creatures popped up on shuffle this morning. Special is a banger. Love this band as a vehicle for Mark's more ear-worm poppy tendencies. That intro vocal part is killer.

Lol so I put on a playlist this morning from 2021 when we were all waiting for new blink. Haven't revisited blink members most recent stuff since the new record. I hear so much passion in lifeforms and feel like that run with AVA really reignited Tom's passion and love for being a musician that really took off on OMT. Euphoria is the precursor to terrified.

I hear some slight Lifeforms influences on OMT but not as overly-annoying as initially hearing the AVA influence on Neighborhoods.

If I understand the timeline that Tom and Travis have been giving, I think Terrified was written and mostly recorded before Euphoria.

Chris Cote just did this podcast too, never knew he was Travis’ first drum tech:

I think of “Lifeforms” as a Tom record not an AVA record. I don’t know if that makes sense. I agree with you, there’s a lot of passion in that album, and a lot of energy that previous AVA was missing.
