  3. Just finished You're Next. Twist was super obvious I thought, but still pretty enjoyable. Didn't have very high expectations but it definitely surpassed them.

    Recent, new viewings:

    - Ouija: OoE...Madd fun. Saw it at the drive-in on Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised because I thought the trailer, specifically the latter half, looked pretty bad.

    - Pod...Zzzzzzzzzz.

    - Baskin...Liked it a lot. Really effective gore and imagery. Took me four tries to get through it; not because it was boring, just because my fiancee and I kept putting it on so late.

    - Dead Silence...Saw it once years back. A solid good-bad horror movie. The ending/twist is so ridiculously amazing.

    - #Horror...Honestly one of the worst movies I've ever seen...Fair warning to all my fellow fans of good-bad horror movies who may think of giving this one a chance. Don't do it.

    but does it djent?

Picked up a horror DVD pack this weekend because it had Stephen King's It included, it had a movie called Hidden packaged with it. Anyone seen it and can speak for or against it?

This weekend was pretty minimal on the movie front compared to last weekend, but still got some good viewing in yesterday.

Evil Dead (2013) - I really loved this, actually. Definitely exceeded expectations. I felt it kept much of the original's plot in line with sensible updates and changes to make it its own story.

Possession - This was magnificent. Uncomfortable and tense; horror in ways that go beyond the typical sense of horror, and fantastic performances from Neill and Adjani.

Suspiria - A total joy to watch. The contrast, the colors, the disorienting, twirling cinematography, and enough 70s cheese to keep it fun. Can't wait for the Synapse Blu-ray release to finally come to fruition.

Possession and Suspiria were my personal "finales" for the season and well deserving of that title - I wish I could have gotten some more movies in this past week, but time just didn't permit. Still very much wanna watch the Scream Factory release of The Thing I just picked up.

Paranormal Activity was kinda tepid imo. like, it was fine, i would even say decent for a ff microbudget story that doesn't break any new ground, but the amount of money it made and the number of sequels and genre trends it spawned is just unreasonable aha.

watching Inferno now. i'd die for a quality box set of Argento's mothers trilogy.

Currently watching It Follows for the first time and it tripped me out when they went past an ice cream shop that is like a mile away from me right now. Didn't know it was filmed here!

  14. My Halloween viewing has been pretty weak...it's hard to get a whole party of people to sit through two movies, haha. We watched It Follows and Rocky Horror Picture Show this past weekend. Yesterday was a day of hangovers and rest, and tonight I'm thinking about The Fly, Pontypool and A Girl Walks Home at Night. Maybe Krampus. Some combination of those, haha.

I dig Pontypool. Ending could have been better but I liked the rest.

I absolutely love the way the movie looks, and the score is cool too, but I agree. Although the opening scene is fantastic.

started my marathon about an hour ago with trick 'r treat (yearly tradition, of course). i'll probably do halloween next, and then either sleepaway camp, nightmare on elm street 3, or the town that dreaded sundown (which I've never seen before)

and of course i'll be throwing 'and then there was shawn' somewhere in between
