Loved the great pop during the ladder match when KO and Zayn made eye contact in the ring while holding the ladder.

 

There were some good matches. It's mostly the last couple of segments that are bad. Even the battle royal wasn't that awful but it really shouldn't have used Shaq. If they can use DDP and Tatanaka then they should have been able to get Tommy Dreamer or something.

 

Owens, AJ styles, new day, Sasha, ambrose all lost. The most over people in the company.. all lost!

Insert a Shane vs taker match with NO Vince for some reason. A jobber battle royal. And the worst main event in maybe ever.

Oh and toss in the biggest waste of time with a 30minute rock segment.

As mania went on. The ryder win got more and more forgotten.

I won't say this was a F. I'll say C- because the Women's match was really good and the Shane spot made me say holy shit.

 

the main PPV show felt too long. can't imagine sitting there for an extra two hours. crowd seemed shot halfway through.

weird that heels won the majority of matches tonight (Charlotte, LoN, Jericho, Lesnar, Undertaker(?), Corbin)

best match: women's triple threat

 

It was actually that gable/Jordan chant. So many different chants tried to start up but most of the crowd was having none of it

 

Changed the avatar because I'm absolutely convinced I dropped the title to someone. BLAH - congrats to whomever it is.

 

damn... wonder if any other Mania had so many over people lose.

makes Undertaker's mumbling about Vince's blood being on his hands as well as Shane's even more nonsensical.

I'm glad that The Rock at least built Brock up a bit with complimenting him, but the downside of going "against" Rock is that he manipulates the crowd so well that his nicknames and comments stick with them. The line about the Duck Dynasty and Rowan's parents incest will not be forgotten.

True, but how many show opening match moments are remembered by the end? especially when the event (even just the "main show" is 5 fucking hours.

While I dislike Flair's interference, I'm just glad Snoop and him didn't steal away from the moment with some nonsense slap or "fight".

 

Biggest letdown was the Ambrose/Lesnar fight.

Is it just me, or have they gone a lot softer? No holds barred used to be pretty sweet.

 

I thought for sure that after the Wyatts climbed the apron to circle The Rock that Reigns would come out as a means to try and help getting cheers and being with / "save" The Rock.

Also, having him come out after Trips, and to no new music, gimmick, or special entrance just perfectly encapsulates his blandness. Can't wait to watch that interview tomorrow on Good Morning America!

 

The Punk / Lesnar SummerSlam no DQ match was excellent and that was barely two years ago (I think). The match tonight did seem very short, rushed, quick... idk but it had no real spots or excitement to it. No one even getting hit with the barbed wire bat (not even in the back, chest or stomach) disappointed.

 

Totally agree, I wanted someone to get the barb wire bat. It was like, "oh my god, the barb wire bat! Is he insane? And it's gone."

 

No surprise this ended up being the highlight of the night for me. Just going to re-watch the reactions for Zayn, Owens and Sasha to wash the taste of the rest of the show out of my mouth.

 

I've looked into the alleged homophobia and cannot find any explicit homophobia besides an occasional uttering of "f**" in TNA. There was an interview he was asked about the "gay community" and he gave a confused question for an answer. It is a sensitive topic to talk about on a public scale in the US. One can give an answer that is pro-gay or neutral to the community, but be said in a confusing manner that may be taken as offensive (it happens a lot).

But, it is not that which hinders his WWE stardom. If it did, then WWE would not have the Warrior Award dedicated to the Ultimate Warrior. Ultimate Warrior made a living touring on homophobic lectures.

 

The only star Styles has beaten in WWE is Jeherico. His merchandise sales show that he is ready for major elevation.

 

Will Vince give Styles a major push since he spent so much time in TNA? From things I've read, Vince is very much against TNA and doesn't even acknowledge their existence, unlike RoH.

 

Styles is 38 (same age as Cena) and on the downslope of his career. AND he's a TNA product. I never believed he was going to get main event treatment and thought you guys were nuts for saying so.

 

The match sucked, but i thought Corbin winning the battle royal was pretty awesome. I'm a fan of his. i'm assuming it means he's on the main roster now? I liked the randomness of the finishes, but taker/shane made no sense with no vince there or interference of any kind, and the main event was just boring. And the rock's promo was pretty boring as well. he came out to announce attendance?

I didn't think it was awful, but i liked not knowing what was going to happen. I just wish they could have had things make more sense. I love ryder winning, but let's give him a win on TV (or hell even show him on tv) anytime in the last 6 months.

 

Seemed like a bit of a let down. I had to bail out to sleep before The New Day.

 

Oh my 42 pages of goodness to catch up on..

My thoughts on the show... it was ok, It's weird to go to your first mania and openly admit the show was lackluster. I thought most of the matches were at least ok outside of the battle royal, and Reigns-HHH (My god this was a disappointing, boring match, I took pleasure in booing the everloving shit out of it, I knew Roman was going over, we all did... but I expected a bit more from a WM Main event)

Some of the results felt like they were just trying to spite the fans... don't get me started on stale ass authority continuing to be a thing.

 

Shane O Mac made it worth it

worst wrestlemania of all time. absolutely NOTHING made sense. i like seeing these old superstars for nostalgia, but having them put over the current roster just is not working. it was cool at first, but now it's so stupid.

 

I feel like I wasted 7 hours of my life

 

If it weren't for the booking this would have been a good Mania. Also, Lol at Rock in his wrestling gear.

 

I'm glad charlotte retained, I hope Ryder retains till at least the next pointless ppv
